The kids on this app have no clue. The @Yankees playoff meltdowns, hilarious inept moments, disappearing offense, and overall piss-poor play have been going for more than two decades. youtube.com/watch?v=CpMpGJ07…

Rocky III is a beautiful film in ways that are different than the first Rocky, which won the Oscar for Best Picture. Rocky III explores what it means to have something to lose & to fight to protect it, whereas the original film is more about an underdog’s climb to the top. Both explore powerful themes. But Rocky III doesn’t seem to get the same recognition. I think this film is nearly flawless.

Nothing says "Let's grow the sport of boxing" and "Let's make sure our paying customers are happy and keep coming back" like delaying the fights for such an extended time because your financier isn't in the arena yet.

Huh. You could argue that about the 1999 Yankees, who lost fewer postseason games than the 1998 team, but not 2009.
The 2009 Yankees were an all-time team, arguably better than even the ‘98 team. But they lost Game 1 of the World Series to Cliff Lee. #OTD in ‘09, A.J. Burnett pitched the game of his life in Game 2, evening the series.

Jay-Z is a top 5 rapper of all time, top 10 at worst. The disrespect from younger hip-hop fans is wild. It’s clear people don’t listen to full albums anymore, and I’d bet most criticizing the Super Bowl halftime pick haven’t even heard his full discography.

When CC Sabathia, Jorge Posada and Anthony Rizzo are all slamming the Yankees culture and separating themselves from it... maybe the fans aren't the dumb ones anymore?
Jorge Posada was asked if he thinks he could improve the Yankees "unacceptable" behaviors by bringing his fiery attitude and baseball instincts around the current team: "I could, but I don't think they want me there. I don't feel welcome when I go there. Even in Spring Training... So I don't go." (via @nypostsports)

Followed by "the performer should be Morgan Wallen." Good lord.
Most people couldn’t name 3 Jay-Z songs. What a narcissistic loser. At least his wife has worldwide hits and an iconic catalog.

Joe Buck was always excellent. People just have a weird habit of hating everyone who's ever spoken into a microphone.
We used to have Gods call these games 💔💔💔

Yep. Not to mention that they made a whole big deal in the zoom presser the other day about not believing in calling players out publicly but Cashman publicly told A-Rod back in the day to shut the bleep up.

Cracks me up how Hal and Cashman do a zoom presser for an hour, take their medicine with a few spicy questions, get cooked in the media and on social media for a couple days, then it all blows over and they go back to doing whatever the fuck they want 😂

The Yankees cut A-Rod 4 homers shy of 700 — awful way to treat a guy who’s the only reason Cashman’s drought isn’t 26 years. If I’m A-Rod and Cashman calls me to discuss my “tone” I’d tell him to stick the phone up his ass.
Replying to @jacko2323
Cashman did say he spoke to some former players to address what they were mouthing off about in podcasts. I'm sure Rizzo, CC, and A-Rod got a call.

It's always crazy to me that players (and sometimes coaches) will spend a lifetime giving reporters the side eye and then upon retirement they transition to a career in media and become what they once hated.
Jim Rice gave Marv Albert a very tense live interview on NBC's "Game of the Week" on August 6, 1988. Rice's prickly relationship with the media was well known, and the footage captures it without much filtering. This doesn't feel like a polished athlete interview. It feels like a star who would rather be almost anywhere else answering questions on live television.

Who else could build a team that falls short 17 years in a row and gets eliminated from the playoffs each time in an embarrassing, non-competitive fashion? THAT is a once-in-a-lifetime talent.
People can say they want to move-on from Cashman but who exactly would you bring in that would do a better job? The Yankees enter every year with the most talented team on paper in the American League. #RepBx
