Watching this video back has given me time to reflect
I deeply regret that the property was sold by Greene King to KRNS Properties Limited
In my experience, Greene King put tenants first when situations like this arose. Sadly, I haven’t felt that same care or support from KRNS
Ye Olde Watling, Watling Street. Nice to visit one of the city’s classic pubs, the prices are city prices though. Eye watering.
The Actress, East Dulwich. I’m guessing more of a family pub and Hamlet supporters place. Looks like it does a decent pizza.

The Packington Arms
📍125 Packington St, London N1 7EA
🚇 Angel
🍺 £6.00 Martina Lager
The Packington Arms is tucked away in the backstreets of Islington, halfway between Essex Road and Regent’s Canal. The nearest Tube is Angel.
This pub dates back to 1866 and has undergone several name changes over the years, becoming As Good As It Gets before reopening as Zenith in June 2008. It eventually closed in 2014, but has now been brought back to life, with its original name reinstated.
The new guardians of this pub are London based Czech brewers @bohembrewery who reopened it on 25 September this year. It’s the sister pub of the Nicholas Nickleby in Finsbury Park and the Queen’s Arms in Battersea.
This is a good sized, single bar pub that feels bright and airy, with a minimalist look. The space is largely open plan, with the servery located on the left hand side. The decor features boarded flooring, tiles around the servery, white walls with dark green tongue-and-groove panelling, a mix of traditional and modern seating, and colourful prints and artwork.
The beer selection showcases Bohem’s range alongside beers from local independent breweries and a selection of cask ales. I opted for Bohem’s Martina Lager, served as a Hladinka, a classic Czech pour with a thick, creamy head. My pint was excellent, price point was about average by comparison. This is a wet-led pub, so there’s no food menu, but bar snacks are available.
I arrived at 6.30 pm on opening night, and it was encouraging to see such a great turnout. The atmosphere was upbeat and buzzy, with a real sense of anticipation and intrigue. I also bumped into @MickeyOnions a fellow pub enthusiast who was propping up the bar. The service was first class, despite how busy it was, I was served in no time at all.
Great to see a pub back from the dead and serving the local community again. I’d definitely recommend trying the locally brewed Czech lager. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would recommend popping in if you’re in the area. 🇨🇿

The Effra Hall Tavern, Brixton. Seems to have had a little tidy up since I was last in. £4.50 pints on a Monday.
The Rattling Bog, Coldharbour Lane. Had a look out of curiosity. Not my scene but it’s going to do exceptionally well.
Tried to visit The Birds Nest but despite saying it opened at 12 I couldn’t get in. Not blaming them, I’m getting over a cold and am currently flummoxed by just about anything.

Pubs, pints and carpets.
The Pintsmen take a pub crawl around Camden, sink 9 beers and grill @jimmy__mcintosh from @dead_pubs about fashion and boozers.
