Logging back on here for the first time in months to wish the best for @StevenFulop tonight! We’ve worked in partnership with his administration since 2016 and I know he would be a great, forward-thinking and action-oriented governor for New Jersey.

Max capacity passengers per hour:
* Boring Co’s Vegas Loop: 4,500
* NYC subway 6 train: 105,000

The throughout in the Vegas tunnels is already better than an average subway btw.
It’s a myth that subways are super efficient.
3 million people were expected to participate in last night’s annual Ciclovía Nocturna, which offered 95 kilometers (59 miles) of car-free streets!

Oakland, California has a stunningly beautiful site, ideal weather even by California standards, and the hub of the regional rapid transit network. Why don't three times as many people live here? Why not Vancouver-style towers at every station?
Big fan of @OsseChi and his leadership here!

I deal with government everyday. It’s not efficient and can be maddening. But in 20+ years of doing this, creating a *new form* of governance led by 2 ideologues with no gov experience is ridiculous. This is a self-serve deal with startup costs that negate any supposed benefit.

The Queens Blvd redesign is complete, including the longest protected bike lane in NYC (14 miles total, 7 in each direction)
Since it began in 2015, this redesign has cut traffic deaths by 68%. We will continue with capital improvements on Queens Blvd in 2025.
New @NYCSanitation set out rules kick in tonight. How are we doing, New York? Like us, it appears no one has received their new bins yet 🤷🏻♂️
From this 2022 @TheAtlantic article: ‘Mutual incomprehension’ is about the best term I’ve come across describing the America we are living in.

Love me a repaving because you get to see Brooklyn, but without the cars. It’s a fleeting glimpse into what these streets were when these buildings were built.
Underhill Avenue appreciation 🧵. I bike this street weekly to get my kids to swim class but today I switched up my running route back from Prospect Park so that I could document the components that make this “Bike Boulevard” so safe and comfortable for walking/cycling.
So that’s it. 9 blocks effectively delivered with lower cost Quick-Build materials that sure stirred the pot with a small but vocal group of detractors but 💯 delivers safety benefits for schools, parks, businesses, and local residents. This should be the norm, not the exception.
And thanks @NYC_DOT! This was a hard battle worth fighting. Our family appreciates how much safer it has become to go to swim, for a run, or to drop our kiddies at The Tiny Scientist. 🙌🏻
