I feel like this is actually the *biggest* use case for World ID.
Advertisers want guarantees of:
1- The number of real people watching their ads
2- That each is a different person
3- That they're really watching, not blocking/ignoring
This solves 1&2, and 3 was solved long ago.
Emerging World ID use case: advertising.
Worldwide, global ad spend lost to fraud exceeds $100 billion annually. Bots play a role in this fraud.
LG Electronics, @tfh_technology and Hakuhodo introduced Ads for Humanity, utilizing World ID to deliver ads to humans only.

Some quick thoughts on people asking how I can support crops and be excited about the changes to @farcaster_xyz
Farcaster (the app) has always had moderation and a social contract. @dwr talked about moderation from the beginning. Having rules for an app doesn’t inherently conflict with free speech or censorship resistance
We don’t allow shitposting on ethresearch. It’s a space for Ethereum research, and moderation helps keep it useful. That’s reasonable. If the mods started banning research about MEV because they personally didn’t think MEV was a problem, that would be a different story. They’d be using their position to suppress ideas within the discussion the forum is supposed to support
I’m directionally for apps experimenting with rules and algorithms that make conversations more productive. We already have algorithms deciding what gets attention, based on what keeps us scrolling. I want people trying other approaches
@balajis is changing Farcaster’s social contract and making it explicit. That doesn’t automatically make every rule or moderation decision good. Applying new rules to old posts is a fair thing to criticize. People wrote those posts under different expectations, and signing something today doesn’t erase that
But Farcaster being built on an open, decentralized protocol matters here. The app’s moderation rules shouldn’t determine whether you can participate in the underlying network. You should be able to use or build another client with different rules and keep your identity, following, and history. That needs to work in practice, too
That’s where my support for CROPS comes in. I want the underlying network to remain open and censorship resistant so different communities can exist on it. I don’t need every app on that network to have the same moderation policy, or to accept every kind of post
Personally, I like the direction of the new social contract. I’ve always found the Network State and techno-optimism interesting without agreeing with everything involved. I’m interested in a social app that rewards building, teaching, and disagreeing productively
I want to write a full post about this, but I’m starting my travels to India. See you soon @JoinEdgeCity @EFDevcon
I am so happy that @ns acquired @farcaster_xyz . This is the whole point of web3: to do things that can't be done with web2, namely having highly opinionated apps, with highly selective vibes, built on an open permissionless protocol.
Farcaster was struggling for years. The original team somewhat dropped the decentralised vision, consolidating efforts into one central app. Then, they tried to 'pivot' it to trading. Then the new owners Neynar focused on miniapps.
This is now a return to the original vision🤩
Consumer crypto apps are so hard to get right because
1) Most people don't like 'crypto'
2) Even people in crypto don't like crypto, unless it's *their* crypto
I do wonder what Bitmine will do when they've finished buying ETH.
It seems to me as if the next logical step would be for them to start adding altcoins, like AAVE, UNI, maybe SKY, or similar.
And that this would cause a LEGENDARY rally in alts.

Who's going to buy the US's debt, when the US has so much debt that they can't pay it back?
Option 1: No-one, and the dollar will be devalued instead, and this currency debasement is the only way out.
Option 2: Stablecoins.
This is The Stablecoin Standard.

I was so bullish at the bottom in June because I didn't believe the cycle had ended. Instead, I saw it as a mid-cycle correction, given the supportive macro picture. BTC only went down 53%; it had a larger mid-cycle correction of 55% in mid-2021, and then rallied to ATHs by Nov.

I have growing confidence that the altcoin outperformance we've seen since ~feb is going to be 'the big altseason' akin to 2021, which lasts over a year and creates generational wealth.
I know I've become one of those annoying altseason people on X but... I've been right so far
Coinbase's Base app - which used to be called Coinbase Wallet, but which rebranded to Base app (and isn’t particularly related to Base chain, also run by Coinbase, despite being called Base app) - has changed its name back to Coinbase Wallet. Glad we're all on the same page now.
For about a year now, alts have been slowly outperforming BTC.
It's happened silently, because everyone capitulated on alts, and because BTC went down.
But I've noticed. And it means that we're heading into a large, crazy, speculative altseason.
Pack your bags!
