MistCoin $WMC was deployed by @feindura and @avsa Nov 3, 2015 with their work on the Ethereum Wallet and the first GUI for standard token creation.
In 2022, Alex gave a group of old NFT enthusiasts 18.5% and 8.5% was locked in liquidity.
Their liquidity is now unlocked 👀

I spent years advocating for a new kind of web where you owned your own content. Worked on tools for decentralized storage, blockchain usernames, p2p networking.
Last week I asked an agent to scour the web for everything I ever posted on flickr, posterous, mirror, medium and the internet archive etc and to convert it into files I own locally. I took back control of my own content and digital life and all I needed was git and markdown.

One day, not too far, people will start to wonder why every stablecoin, every tokenized stock, every tokenized bond or in short, every tokenized asset, is called “ERC20 token”.
They’ll find out this post. And right after, they’ll find out about ethereum:0x7fd4d7737597e7b4ee22acbf8d94362343ae0a79

I didn’t pick the number randomly, it was the GitHub issue number 20.
The idea was not that this becomes the official standard, but to be thr discussion for a future standard 😉
People just went with my written specification, and used the name ERC20

The cryptographic world computer:

My attempt to express in somewhat concise terms the true meaning of basically everything planned to happen to Ethereum starting from the fork after Hegota. It's really not just a blockchain anymore. It's a hybrid architecture that combines together blockchains and modern cryptography, to enable much more powerful properties.
FOCIL, EIP-8288, Lean consensus, state management, formal verification, advanced mempool improvements (including privacy), and the longer-term specter of obfuscation all mentioned.

you wouldn't buy fake pokemon cards printed by some random guy
so why do you buy memecoins minted by anon extractors?

What does tokenizing mean?
In most cases, it means converting a real-world asset into a token that follows the ERC-20 standard.
MistCoin was the proof of concept for that standard.

In 2015, someone deployed a token experiment on Ethereum.
Eight years later, 2,900 of those tokens landed in my wallet.
I sold them all for around $1 each.
Then I watched them run past $60.
The token was MistCoin. 🧵 #ETH2015
