Hey @cz_binance if we gotta remember our roots, you should learn about MistCoin, the prototype which helped shape the ERC20 token standard.
The daddy of $BNB clearly deserves a listing 😉

bruh, don't do that. 😂
I can't mention every coin. Without ETH, there is probably no BNB. BNB launched as an ERC20 token. 🤷♂️
Gotta remember our roots. 🙏
Honest answer: Buying the prototype of the most famous token standard (ERC20)

While everyone in CT is discussing if AI will kill cryptography and our magic internet money, we are looking back at this tutorial from December 2015, where @ethereum was explaining how to create your own cryptocurrencies using MistCoin code.
Just a piece of tokenization history.

New blog post from Ethereum's @AVSA - How to Build Your Own Cryptocurrency Without Touching a Line of Code blog.ethereum.org/2015/12/03…
>eth mainnet launches on 30th July 2015
>first 2/3 months just a bunch of nerds deploying random contracts
>October 2015, Ethereum core devs decide it’s time to experiment with tokens
>everyone starts coming up with their own approaches, everyone writes their own code
>3rd November 2015
Ethereum lead devs Avsa and Feindura come up with a first token standard and deploy MistCoin
>they announce it and gift some to the early ethereum fam
>along with MistCoin, Fabian and Avsa deploy a tool to launch custom tokens using the MistCoin code
>hundreds of tokens are deployed following MistCoin code. The first shitcoins on eth.
>Devcon 1, 9–13 November 2015
everyone is suddenly very interested in token standards.
>Discussions about how the standard should look like are still ongoing
>16 days after MistCoin
Fabian and Vitalik propose ERC-20
>Avsa writes a tutorial on the Ethereum blog explaining how to create your own tokens using the MistCoin code and just pushing a few buttons
>first ICOs
>ERC-20 gets finalized
>tokens become a primitive of Ethereum
>DEX, liquidity pools
>stablecoins
>DeFi
>shiba inu or pepe doing multibillion mcaps as erc20 tokens
>tokenized stocks, bonds, everything

>all the reputable KOLs of 2017/21 era are gone. Probably all of them already made it
>but you lock in CT and you follow all the new KOLs
>it’s the fifth crypto founder pet memecoin you’ve bought this month

I spent years advocating for a new kind of web where you owned your own content. Worked on tools for decentralized storage, blockchain usernames, p2p networking.
Last week I asked an agent to scour the web for everything I ever posted on flickr, posterous, mirror, medium and the internet archive etc and to convert it into files I own locally. I took back control of my own content and digital life and all I needed was git and markdown.

“It was the first wallet to have tokens. In fact we were the ones who wrote the specs for it, which became industry standard, ERC20”
No a small feat @avsa

It’s really this simple.
The Ethereum Foundation’s public experiments which shaped today’s token standards and the way we do DeFi.
This is where tokenization began.

One day, not too far, people will start to wonder why every stablecoin, every tokenized stock, every tokenized bond or in short, every tokenized asset, is called “ERC20 token”.
They’ll find out this post. And right after, they’ll find out about ethereum:0x7fd4d7737597e7b4ee22acbf8d94362343ae0a79

I didn’t pick the number randomly, it was the GitHub issue number 20.
The idea was not that this becomes the official standard, but to be thr discussion for a future standard 😉
People just went with my written specification, and used the name ERC20
