ICYMI: The Trump admin has been blocked from upending vote-by-mail for the upcoming midterms.
This is good news — but also demonstrates the need for additional accessible options, like secure smartphone voting, that do not depend on USPS.
Our statement: mobilevoting.org/news/statem…
Trump continues to aggressively attack mail-in ballots, and they are hanging on by a thread as the courts continue to debate their fate.
State must act now to provide other options, like mobile voting, that ensure access to the ballot box if mail-in voting is restricted.
NEW: Judge allows Trump's mail-in ballots executive order to go forward for now, but with litigation moving quickly, it could still be blocked. nbcnews.com/politics/electio…
If we want government to work better and a democracy that is representative, we need voting systems that meet people where they are.
Mobile voting is how we do that, and we must make it a reality as mail-in ballots are threatened nationwide.

The Trump White House is relentlessly attacking mail-in ballots. We need an alternative to ensure access.
The solution? Secure smartphone voting.

"We ask military members to defend our democracy around the world. The least we can do is continue finding better ways for them to participate in it at home."
Sam Kinch, a veteran + cybersecurity expert, urges a mobile voting option for Marylanders.

Today's ruling in Watson v. RNC is a critical win for accessibility and our democracy, especially for overseas and military voters who depend on mail-in ballots and were at risk of being disenfranchised through no fault of their own.
Despite this ruling, mail-in ballots are still under attack from White House executive orders.
And many voters, like some who have disabilities, are not well served by mail-in ballots.
Our democracy remains inaccessible for too many.
In California's primary elections, there's been only 5% turnout so far for voters younger than 35.
This is alarming, and certainly won't lead to the most representative outcome.
Young people do everything on their phones already. We need a secure mobile voting option too.
Over 3.3 million Californians have cast ballots for the June primary.
Returns as of May 30 per @Political_Data:
🔵 DEM: 1,540,171
🔴 GOP: 1,126,628
⚪ OTH: 693,445
% Turnout by Age
18-34: 5%
35-49: 8%
50-64: 15%
65+: 30%
Rather than a GOTV game to get young people to the polls, what about bringing the polls directly to young people?
That's the potential of mobile voting, and it should be an option for everyone.

Youth turnout so far in California is absolutely abysmal via @optiqdata
5% turnout statewide
4 % turnout in LA
If you’re a Dem counting on younger voters, your GOTV game better be strong.
Texas has roughly 18.7 million registered voters.
Only 1.3 million votes were cast in this week's high-profile senate primary.
Such low turnout empowers the extremes, and makes clear that much more must be done to make it easier for everyone to vote.

After voters received mail ballots, Louisiana has called off its congressional primary.
This risks disenfranchising voters & requires new ballots sent.
But with mobile voting, voters could seamlessly receive a new ballot, reducing confusion for them & paperwork for officials.

Neither the US government nor Silicon Valley have developed the technology, or the political will, to modernize US voting. Will Gen Z lead the way?

NEW op-ed in @dailycamera discusses barriers to voting access and makes the case for mobile voting in Colorado's local elections.
Everyone must be able to take part in our democracy — especially the elections that matter most for our neighborhoods and day-to-day lives.
