In Dulene, fermented plums are heated slowly in a still, sending alcohol-rich vapor through a cooling pipe until it returns as clear šljivovica. The process takes time, attention, and plenty of opinions from everyone standing nearby. Serbia’s tradition of making and using šljivovica was added to UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage list in 2022.
