BREAKING: AMEN! Rep. Jamie Raskin says that future historians will say that this "miserable period" really started when MAGA voters chose to ignore all of the women that Trump sexually harassed and abused. Our country went off the cliff after that... "Her mother sided with the rapist stepfather and Vivek Ramaswamy made an ad about it. JD Vance didn't hesitate or flinch in the same news cycle that it comes out," MS NOW's Nicolle Wallace said, setting the stage for the discussion. "He doubles down. He said, run the ad harder, run the ad longer, put more money behind it. Trump said the same. What does it say about the culture around these men?" Ramaswamy's vile ad featured the mother of his Democratic opponent Amy Acton urging voters to reject her daughter at the ballot box. He dumped millions into the ad, despite the fact that Acton's mother previously sided with Acton's stepfather, who raped her. Vivek and Vance's defense of the ad has been disgusting, and proves that these Republican men view women as nothing more than disposable objects. "Well, it's completely contaminated and toxic, and you know, when historians look back on this miserable period of our history, they might say that the first problem was disregarding all of those women who told us back in 2016 that they had been sexually harassed or assaulted by Donald Trump," said Raskin. "But he got elected even after he was adjudicated civilly responsible for sexually penetrating and attacking E. Jean Carroll in a dressing room in a department store in New York City," he continued. "And there are there are reports in the report that we just released, the Democrats on the Judiciary Committee. "There are accounts by specific survivors and victims which very much resemble this, that is at a kind of public event or public place, cornering someone in something like a dressing room or a hotel room and then sexually attacking them," said Raskin. "And that's precisely what Beatrice Keul says in her account of what took place back then." A new report released by Democratic staff on the House Judiciary Committee revealed yesterday that former Miss Switzerland Beatrice Keul alleged that Trump raped her at the Plaza Hotel in New York in 1993. Not only that, but Jeffrey Epstein introduced himself to her as Trump's best friend and offered to arrange for her to travel to Mar-a-Lago. The report states that the two predators used the "Donald J. Trump American Dream Pageant" as a "hunting ground" to prey on young women and girls. The new allegation, as horrifying as it is, is unfortunately unsurprising. We have long known that Trump is an unrepentant rapist in addition to being a pedophile. His voters chose to ignore those facts because they were so excited by his racist rhetoric and cruelty. Now, they're paying the price because (surprise, surprise!), the sociopathic, serial rapist isn't actually interested in improving the lives of average Americans. He's getting richer while the country burns. "So look, the evidence is certainly enough to justify an investigation," said Raskin of Keul's accusation. "It's overwhelmingly likely it's enough to justify going to a grand jury to see if a grand jury agrees. But it certainly is not reconcilable in any way with sweeping the whole matter under the rug. And I just want to thank these survivors, these victims of these terrible events when they were mostly girls. Some of them were young women, but mostly they were girls. They were minors." "For coming forward and hanging tough and saying this really happened and the country's got to pay attention to it," he went on. "So my responsibility is the ranking member in the House Judiciary Committee and our responsibility as Democrats on the Judiciary Committee is to make certain that the Department of Justice is not able to sweep this under the rug." "And we also show evidence in this report about how the White House was actually calling all the shots and was essentially dictating or editing the statement that there was nothing to see here and that there was no basis for further investigation," added Raskin. "And it's just scandalous that that took place. In fact, the White House had to order them to use Department of Justice and FBI letterhead because they didn't want to. Nobody wanted to be associated with this extraordinary act of cover up in the service of Donald Trump and against the service of justice and the rule of law." Accountability is coming. After the midterms, Raskin will get sweeping subpoena powers and you can be damn sure he'll put them to use! Please ❤️ and share if you support prosecution!

Interesting that in a post-pandemic world 4 Africans get 4 of the most prized literature trophies: Tanzanian Abdulrazak Gurnah the Nobel, Senegalese Mbougar Sarr the Goncourt, Mozambican Paulina Chiziane the Camoes and South African Dalmon Galgut the Booker. Bravo! Historic!

History will favor those who stood up and said "No more!" to the Trump regime. She's 1000% right. These asshole politicians and billionaires are nothing without the people. Organize. Be angry, you have every right to be.

In 1965, the sugar industry paid Harvard scientists to blame heart disease on fat. And it worked for 50 years. This isn't a conspiracy theory. Researchers at UC San Francisco found the industry's own internal letters. 1,551 pages of them, buried in a university archive. Plus 31 pages of correspondence held at the Harvard Medical Library. Here is what they show. In the 1960s, studies started linking sugar to heart disease. A newspaper ran a full page story saying the new research "threatened to tie the whole business in a knot." Two days later, the Sugar Research Foundation approved a secret project. Project 226. They hired nutrition scientists at Harvard to write a review of the evidence. The industry set the goal. It sent them the articles to include. It received the drafts. The price: $6,500. About $48,900 in 2016 money. At one point, one of the Harvard scientists complained: "Every time the Iowa group publishes a paper we have to rework a section in rebuttal." When the final draft arrived, the sugar executive replied: "Let me assure you this is quite what we had in mind and we look forward to its appearance in print." In 1967, it was published in the New England Journal of Medicine. One of the most trusted journals on Earth. Its conclusion: there was "no doubt" the only diet change needed to prevent heart disease was cutting cholesterol and swapping saturated fat. Sugar? Downplayed. The industry's funding? Never disclosed. In plain English: A trade group bought the scientific conclusion it wanted. Then the world ate it for breakfast. But here is the twist. Sugar wasn't playing defense. It was playing offense. Back in 1954, the foundation's president had spotted the opportunity. If Americans ate less fat, sugar could take a bigger share of their diet. He predicted it would raise sugar consumption by more than a third. Low fat. High sugar. That was the plan. The researchers couldn't interview any of the key people involved. They're all dead. Heart disease is still the number one killer on the planet. So the next time a food company funds a study… Who do you think wrote the conclusion?

The situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is out of control. In Gaza, essential aid is still being severely restricted by Israel. In the occupied West Bank, Palestinians continue to suffer daily attacks by Israeli settlers and journalists & diplomats are being attacked. There must be a credible political path towards lasting peace, ending the occupation and realizing a two-State solution, with Israel & Palestine living side by side in peace & security.

As a local journalist, I spent 40 years reporting the truth and holding those in power accountable. In Congress, I'll fight corruption and increase transparency. But Virginia Foxx just does whatever the Epstein insiders tell her — telling everyone else to shut up.

This is probably the single best Two minute clip I have seen in a long time. Anderson Cooper, who is gay, making fun of how gay Donald Trump is. And I will repeat. There’s nothing wrong with being gay. The problem is hypocrisy.

John Cena on why he doesn’t want kids: “Just because someone thinks I would be good at something… is that reason enough to do it?” “It’s not a commitment where 4 months in I can go, ‘You know, this wasn’t my thing.’” “The time I’ve had to live life is how I’ve developed the wisdom… If I did have those commitments, I wouldn’t be who I am.” “I’m on the wrong side of the math. Everybody has kids… so because I don’t want to, I’m an oddball.” “I’m not second-guessing anything. I’m still so interested in what’s out there.”

As a child sex crimes prosecutor nothing was more heartbreaking than when a victim’s mother took the side of her boyfriend or husband against her own daughter. And this woman decides to do it all over again to her. Shame on her. And shame on Vivek Ramaswamy for being this desperate for power.
Amy Acton's brother slams Vivek Ramaswamy featuring her estranged mother in a campaign ad. "After he was arrested and Amy and I were removed from their custody, our birth mother stayed married to Amy’s rapist until he died. This desperate, disgusting attack reveals exactly who Vivek Ramaswamy is at his core – a pathetic excuse for a man who is willing to hurt anyone as long as it gets him what he wants."
