The lead story on the Racing Post website (and, it's a really quiet racing week, isn't it?) tonight is Constitution Hill now maybe be going to Belmont, presumably the US version, not the one near the Royal Marsden in Sutton. Just stop this media-fuelled/perpetuated circus, ffs.
A sneak behind the scenes of this morning's unbroadcast @AKBets podcast. Posted with out the knowledge or approval of @AKBets87 @HarryStewartMo1 and @ronangroome20 .... Working title: BellyUpBet 0-5 mins INTRO Ronan says “Deadly Tripod” once again for reasons known only to himself Tony’s spread on glasses on off/through podcast goes through roof after an early flourish Anthony is finally justified for not looking at the running order pre-recording for once Harry stresses that, under no circumstances, can the pre-podcast chat be broadcast or else…. Also, strictly no mention of Constitution Hill, the SMF, or The Road To Cheltenham on this show, okay? RACING REVIEW The miserable bastards (our staple audience, granted) tell us everyone fast-forwards this section so we will drop it this week (even though it often contains three or four sections that could be topics in their own right, so the impatient ones like The Computer Kid have been missing out) TOPICS 1.Budget Chat Mk 247 – Our resident Mathematical genius points out to The Times the difference between a 5pc and 25pc rise in MGD, while confidently predicting punting Armageddon on Wednesday afternoon (Budget speech is due to kick off around 12.30pm) 2.Brazil Whacks Gambling – Lula, who banned gambling last month, wins the Brazil election on Sunday night – so it could have been a wise move for Flutter to close its Betfair operation in Brazil last week (this was a Next IO exclusive last week) 3.The Brazil news was in addition to Flutter announcing 1,400 job losses across the board last week a.IGaming Republic breaks down job cuts by area (Leeds 450+; Clui-Napuca 300; Dublin 240; 50 Malta 50 – other potential areas include Porto; Gibraltar; London and Sunderland. Sunderland? Have Flutter got a car plant? b.Are Paddy Power losses bad news for their plethora of Racing Ambassadors and the Sporting Life website and Timeform and indeed other editorial? c.PP ambassador Ruby Walsh has another tricky subject to cover in his RP column after Final Demand, with the Flutter announcement 4.We hear another big bookmaking group are set to announce losses in their Risk/Trading areas - the hits just keep coming This is not related in any way to the Betfair odds-compiler tasked with pricing up Corner markets last weekend….. 5.Three sentenced for General Election betting offences – what one of our number said “personally I think it is a disgrace but I can’t say it on the pod”? (whether they meant it was a disgrace that all sentences were suspended or they shouldn’t have been found guilty in the first place is unclear) 6.Gary Wiltshire changes his pitches from BresBet to BellyBet – you missed an opportunity there Gal, in not going with BellyUpBet…. 7.BetGoodwin eyes up £80m potential stock market listing – they must have saved a bit by reining back on horse racing sponsorship in November 2025 then… 8.Ex-athletes, ex-sportsbook trader charged in hoops fixing plot – according to Nevada court documents 9. George Cottrell and Tether Bet and Curacao latest – The Times follow-up 10. What is the latest on their new BHA admin website, which began in July 2021, and was initially set for launch in 2024? – indeed do the BHA have to embrace modern day technology a lot more, across all aspects of their operations, in this technical day and age (trials, appeals etc)? 11.Should the sport be worried about yet another winner weighing in light and being DQd? – it was always a big fear at Betfair back in the day, as it’s a guaranteed winner in pre-race and in-running markets if it was ever done intentionally (certainly not suggesting this latest example was) 12.The BHA’s latest podcast – Racing’s Diverse Future 13. New BHA chairman Simon Cox’s profile in media continues to rise after given more interviews – is this at the expense of the longstanding BHA leadership teams and does it undermine their importance? Is the chairman more important than the CEO? 14.RP further goes into Kia Jorabachiaan’s good books, no doubt, as Peter Scargill runs the rule over Amo Racing’s published latest finances Harry advises Anthony to keep it factual… QUESTIONS /COMMENTS A hugely disappointing turn-out once again, but at least trusty regulars like David Brown out in force again, in a more reasoned manner than his usual posts.. And on the Youtube comments, Madforit uses his daily hour of internet access to give us both barrels….

I see Nick Ferrari has also worked out the scam, the homeless rough sleepers get a fraction of the money and those "helping them" namely "faith groups" and the like get the majority of the money. Oh what a fucking good wheeze.
Not surprised to see "faith groups" packing the press room at Number 10 and lining up to line their pockets I mean help get rid of rough sleepers now that there is £432million sat there up for grabs for that purpose. Remarkable.

Because a horse race ain’t that difficult to fix…..next🫣
Why is it that Betfair allow a punter to win £1 million from betting on a four corners accumulator, and yet if you are lucky enough to land a multiple at Leicester, Redcar, Kempton or Southwell today your return could be limited to just £100,000 !

"inadequate medical facilities with “tired worn rooms not conveying of a clean clinical area”, a direct telephone not working and a suture trolley, used for storing medical equipment, which was described as being “a heritage item of furniture” But, apart from that......

Car crash interview. £874 million to get about 4,000 people off the street. That’s £190,000 each. Buy them a house. Instead it’s contracts, outreach teams and councils deciding where the cash goes. Rough sleeping rose under Burnham in Manchester. Now we’re nationalising the failure.

Nobody wants to buy a service they can’t walk away from. Palantir’s critics have long claimed we ‘lock in’ our customers. We don’t. This short film explains why. It’s the first in a series on the gap between the rhetoric about Palantir and the work we actually do.

So here’s the thing about so-called experts (plural): They get on a podcast, give their percentages and figures as if they have a Scooby what they’re talking about and then the second their figures are scrutinised they immediately retreat and the audience learns that what they said has about as much value as last week’s lottery ticket. And that, my friends, is the whole story of about 97% of people you watch. You can fact check that.
