This ridiculous spectacle is devastating to the US defence industry. Every single manufacturer outside the US now have teams set up with the task of investigating how to phase out American components and hardware.
The recent Starlink / Starshield incident in Ukraine has created a dangerous precedence for the US export industry, many haven't yet grasped. The sudden deactivation respectively curtailing of those systems without warning not only cost precious lives, but also equipment worth millions. Though the blame game between the White House (Trump) and SpaceX (Musk) is going on, ultimately it doesn't matter. It showed the world that the USA are not a reliable partner any more. Pointing at some obscure "violation of terms of services" without providing the exact passage are just increasing that notion that this was a political move. The explanation that Starlink must not be used for "offensive" means is nonsense, too. Starlink has never been turned on over Russia, and using it in Ukraine is by definition defensive in nature. You can even argue that hitting Russian targets in Russia is defensive, since you don't have to wait for an attack to be conducted. Even the intention is enough to warrant action and to eliminate the threat at the source. But this is a different topic. Furthermore, SpaceX has been fully aware that its Starlink terminals are being used by Ukrainian forces. Especially when considering that Ukraine only recently had to white-list their Starlink terminals for the Ukrainian military so that Russian forces, who have been abundantly using Starlink as well, were locked out. It has always been clear that those Starlink terminals are used for and by the Ukrainian military, and Ukraine has always been thankful for that. Coming up with this bogus story, now, three weeks before midterms is therefore as transparent as it is shameless. It is obvious for everyone that this was just figleaf statement so that a political agenda can be pushed, an agenda which runs counter to the strategic nationalist interests of the USA, both political and economic. And this is the real scandal. It is not new that the US had to lock out its technology or supplies to nations with which it had previously good and even cordial relation. Iran under the Shah, South-Vietnam and Cuba before Castro are just three to name it. But as you can see from them, it made perfectly sense back then. Those nations switched sides or disappeared altogether. Ukraine on the other hand didn't switch sides and even helped the US in the most recent and botched Iran war, despite being short on ammunition itself. The Ukrainian government accepted every possible compromise and offered an unconditional ceasefire from the start. Russia on the hand refused all of it and is demanding surrender. Yet, it gets this treatment? Unbelievable. This will be noted by all clients around the globe who purchase US weapons and technology. If agreements are not honored and can unilaterally and even clandestinely be altered based on the whims of a few, who only follow their own motives or election lies, then the all concept reliability falls apart. Whether it is Starlink, the F-35, Tomahawk missiles or HIMARS. All those systems run on software and in many cases can only properly operate with recent updates. You don't even need have a kill switch. You can only refuse to update and many of those systems lose more than 90% of their effectiveness within a short period, making worthless. This is why we see the blame game between Musk and Trump. I'm sure that people around those guys told them how absolutely shortsighted and stupid this step was. It will fall back on the entire US industry. Not even those two guys are worth that losses and backlash. A functional US Congress would immediately start subpoenas and hearings, asking questions in order to mitigate the damage, but here we are. Trump and Musk have given the best reason why not to buy American. Customers - governmental and private alike - around the globe will take note of this and act accordingly, and I wouldn't be surprised if this won't be limited to US military products only. An absolutely senseless and avoidable own goal.

If the war ended on the US terms ( read: Russias terms ) today, every single man in Ukraine will die in a ditch, taken a shot in the neck. Use your financial powers, Mr Musk, to force Russia to leave the occupied areas of Ukraine. Then the war will end in 24 hours.

Yeah, this retard is so fucking dumb that he doesn’t realize that our policies serve the Ukrainian people. Pieces of shit like this want the war to continue until every last man in Ukraine has died in a ditch. They are utter scum of the Earth.

Trump: We were in the midst of negotiating and a lot of stupid people said why aren’t you putting Russian sanctions— Collins: But you said you didn’t give anything for his release Trump: If I didn’t do that, you wouldn’t have him coming back. Collins: So you did give something. Trump: You don’t know anything. You’re fake news CNN. Collins: You’re saying you lifted the sanctions in exchange for his release? Trump: You don’t know what you’re talking about. You’re a low IQ person. You’re a dummy.

I will be speaking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team this week to discuss Starshield, sanctions, and other matters pertaining to the defense of our strong ally, Ukraine. I will be assuring President Zelenskyy that anyone who attempts to limit the use of Starshield for Ukraine will be fully investigated and will be held fully accountable, to include public congressional oversight hearings, and immediate harsh and punitive budget cuts to any responsible agency or agency head. Congress will unequivocally reaffirm that Ukraine is an indispensable ally to the United States, that Russia is a self-declared enemy of the United States, and that the United States will 100% support and defend the people of Ukraine in their fight for their own freedom against this brutal, illegal, and unprovoked Russian invasion. The United States must provide any and all defensive equipment that Ukraine needs to defend itself. The United States must not import a single drop of Russian oil. Sanctions against the Russian regime must be harsher and stronger than they’ve ever been before. Each and every one of these items will be brought to the House Floor—and each and every one of these items will pass on the House Floor by an overwhelming margin. This is, after all, what Ronald Reagan would do. And this is what we will do now. Ukraine can, and will, defeat Russia. #PeaceThroughStrength

This is the bus stop just outside the Russian embassy I Stockholm. ”Free Ukraines place”. On the outside of the entrance gate of that embassy lies the public park ”Free Ukraines place”. When the orcs look out through their office windows they see the Free Ukraine #SlavaUkraïni
A true friend stands by you when times are hardest. Today, Sweden announced SEK 522 million in new support to help Ukraine survive another winter of Russian attacks - restoring energy, transport, healthcare and more. Thank you, Sweden, for turning solidarity into action! 🇺🇦🇸🇪

The Line Has Been Crossed. Act Like It. For ten years Europe has treated Trump's affection for Moscow as a personality quirk, something to be managed with flattery, state dinners and a larger order for American jets. That era of polite self-deception is over. A president who funds the aggressor and starves the victim has answered the question of whose side he is on, and anyone still waiting for more evidence is not being cautious but is simply afraid of the conclusion. Ukraine must plan as though American support is gone and American pressure is coming. Any deal drafted in Washington should be read as a deal drafted in Moscow, and Kyiv has every right to refuse a peace designed by two men who want it to lose. Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand should take no comfort in distance. A president who trades away Ukraine for cheaper diesel will trade away Taiwan for less, and their security guarantees are worth exactly what his word is worth. The democracies of the Pacific and the Atlantic need to bind themselves to each other directly, in arms, intelligence and trade, with Washington outside the room. The playbook already exists, because we wrote it for Russia: reduce exposure, close dependencies, sanction the enablers, and wait for better leadership while preparing for it never to arrive. America may return to us one day. Until then, we treat Trump's United States as what it has chosen to be.

Big story developing in Russia today. Ukraine hit Yandex really hard. The loss of 4 yandex data centers means Russia drones lose realtime data, businesses lose customer data, cloud storage disappears. It’s a huge disruption across Russia, and Belarus. Late reports are Yandex is totally down across Russia. This means dozens of apps used by people everyday are not working. Ukraine really hit them last night. Also, more oil tanks are burning in several locations. A lot of people have no email, and no way to do business today and the damage at Yandex is severe. The impact on the Russian military is immediate and it will cut down the drones they are sending into Ukraine. Not one bot commented on this. Usually it would be 7 to 10! You wouldn't see it because I can easily filter them, but none! Ukraine has done great damage to Russian businesses and its military but it seems to have really hit their propaganda machine!
