This is heartbreaking.
Even more heartbreaking that it's not the first time the athletics community has lost such an incredible female athlete to domestic violence. 💔
It needs to stop! RIP Rebecca. 🙏
We're sorry to report that Rebecca Cheptegei has sadly passed away.
The Ugandan has succumbed to her injuries after she was doused in petrol and set alight in her home in Kenya.
Cheptegei suffered burns to 75% of her body after an alleged attack by her former boyfriend.
Only last month, she represented Uganda in the marathon at the Paris Olympics.

Not long until we return to school; I might even open my laptop today.
A new role and a renewed focus! 24/24 let’s have ya!
Today at the Souk I was trying to bag a deal for a Ronaldo Kit. He put a price on the calculator, I took one look and stated “you could include the real Ronaldo for that price and I still won’t pay” the guy laughed so hard he happily agreed to my price 🤣

How beautiful would it be if we said to people we loved: “I’m not feeling like my best self today, can you remind me of who I am?” And that person said a few reasons why they appreciate you, for you. Appreciation and connection heal us.
Some wonderful work produced today after our first reading of the opening extract of George Orwell's '1984'.
Thanks @MissNLMorgan for sharing the 'Reduce, Transform, Debate' idea with me.

Had such a wonderful festive day at Winterfest by @McGettigansPub.
@Catboy92 hosted the most amazing family quiz. I still think I was robbed from the dance competition; the decisions made were worse than those from the ref last night!

*Leadership*
‘The standard you walk past is the standard you accept’
This is so important for all levels of leadership in schools. Model this to colleagues when walking the school
When leaders accept standards against the school expectations it weakens the culture – at Northwich, England

We need to be more trauma informed when it comes to staff, way too many education staff have been bullied, belittled & hounded in schools. Toxic people & schools leave a lasting mark so something as simple as saying “pop into my office when you have a minute” can be terrifying.
