🔘 WATCH: The PM and the media...
Senior Journalist Dionne Jackson-Miller revisits Prime Minister Andrew Holness' wild swing at reporters during his applause-punctuated press conference at Jamaica House last Tuesday on the eve of the first anniversary of Hurricane Melissa.
"It's one thing when the attacks on media and civil society are coming from the political trolls on social media but when the prime minister responds like that to a legitimate question, first of all, it gives fuel to the fire of the political trolls because if this is what we are hearing at the very top, what can you expect from the bottom? The second problem is that it has a chilling effect on the asking of future questions," says @djmillerJA.

Kamina be like: we always voted yes to end the US embargo and nothing changes so we took a PRINCIPLED STAND and side with the US embargo
Foreign Affairs Minister Kamina Johnson Smith has defended Jamaica’s decision to abstain from a UN vote calling for an end to the US embargo against Cuba, rejecting former Prime Minister PJ Patterson’s description of the move as an “abominable betrayal”.

A voter ID is good enough for voting but not secure enough to collect government aid. Can you people hear yourself?
“The government cannot be handing money and they do not know who received it.”
ID and TRN nonexistent all of a sudden?
“If the current arrangement offends the constitution, FIX IT!”
Ask the PM why it offends
“They r the government, FIX IT!”
Yet, fake outrage at ops 👍

There has to be some form of reliable identification used when it pertains to dispensing govt money.
The government cannot be handing money and they do not know who received it.

We were nearly killed two days ago.
Settler-terrorist Tomer Liani bashed my head against the ground repeatedly, then the IDF and police blocked the ambulances and prevented hospitalisation.
All because we caught the settlers locking locking a gate to more than 20 Palestinian communities, trapping entire families.
We exposed Tomer Liani, Shimon Atia and Nevo Nadalski directly committing crimes against humanity in Masafer Yatta, and we were punished by the Israeli police and court for this.
Israeli state terrorism in the West Bank is at its peak, and the authorities are doing everything to keep Palestinian voices silent.

"Cuba is free to trade with any country it wants."
The Helms-Burton Act allows the United States to sanction foreign companies that do business with Cuba.
European companies have been fined.
Shipping companies avoid Cuban ports because American ports will close to them.
Banks worldwide refuse Cuba-related transactions because of the risk of U.S. penalties.
This is not Cuba being "free to trade."
This is the extraterritorial application of American economic power specifically designed to ensure that Cuba’s theoretical freedom to trade does not translate into actual trade.
Calling Cuba "free to trade" while operating a sanctions regime explicitly designed to punish third parties for trading with Cuba is a particular kind of audacity.
It’s the equivalent of blocking every door in a building, and then, when no one can leave, concluding that the people inside must prefer to stay.

If Cuban socialism was so great, why does it need the United States at all? For decades, Cuba had the full support of the Soviet Union, Africa, most of Latin America, much of Europe and Asia. Trade, investment, tourism, and foreign aid all flowed to Cuba. So why no success?
The courts ruled doing exactly that as unconstitutional. I know you knew this since several people pointed it out, you even acknowledged it. Yet, here you are trying to paint the opposition as if they're doing something wrong
Please do better
No, No, No, they MUST be required to register.
@MarkJGolding you cannot travel without a passport, drive without a driver's licence.
We have to move away from this type of zinc fence informality.
I cannot believe your party is taking this position in 2026.
Please do better.

Germany's Chancellor Merz on Iran War:
We now have costs exceeding €100 billion for Europe alone over the last eight months, solely because of the increase in energy prices caused by this conflict.
More than €100 billion extra has been paid by businesses and consumers in Europe because energy has become more expensive as a result of this conflict.
We have an economic interest in bringing this conflict to an end as quickly as possible.
lmao people dem conclude last year right here on Twitter that she was horrible but still going to vote for her.

When Tessane Chin stood on an international platform and said 'Jamaica had the worst roads' labourites cheered. There was no talk of unpatriotism and tearing down the country. Those who use patriotism to hide their bad acts are the least patriotic; its only a term for them.

I am referring to the USA and the elections going on right now.
If you feel that any of what I said applies to Jamaica then that would be very telling and you would have to consider why you felt a stone was flung in your direction.

Please note the framing: “Russia’s war in Ukraine” is not followed by “the US-Israeli war in Iran” but by “crisis in the Middle East”. This, ladies and gentlemen of the Collective West, is why no thinking person outside and inside your little “garden” takes you guys seriously anymore. Your hypocrisy is now 100% transparent. You frauds.
Russia’s war in Ukraine and the crisis in the Middle East pose major threats to energy and food supplies, trade and freedom of navigation.
Maritime routes are global lifelines.
At the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Atlanta, I called for a Black Sea freedom of navigation arrangement and reaffirmed the EU’s opposition to tolls and fees on international shipping routes.
Energy security and supply chain resilience are vital for global economic stability.

— Andrew Holness in opposition campaigning on short term delivery over long-term gains
Prime Minister, Dr Andrew Holness, says the country’s long-term planning is being hampered by citizens increasingly interested in short-term delivery.
He was speaking at a New Social Housing Programme handing-over ceremony in North West St Catherine on Friday.

Vibe coding is dead.
I have a friend who is a roofr. About 4 months ago he asked me to install him OpenClaw. He was already a heavy ChatGPT user.
Every single month he would call me excited about his progress building an app for his company from scratch.
Then the last few months things started to turn around.
He would call me for advice saying that the AI was hallucinating, that he couldn't get it to do things right.
Yesterday he called me he was stopping there after spending thousands in tokens.
Kepp hearing this story but also from companies that purchased agents that promised similar things....building things from scratch that would work in production.
If it wasn't for the many charities like World Central Kitchen, the many donations and the ordinary man who stepped in, I don't know what western Jamaica would be like today.
About those articulate minorities
Bring back the #ArticulateMinority. Bring back people who honestly want the best for Jamaica and arent willing to sell out their morals & ethics.
This is why Jamaica cannot be better, too many of us are willing to sell out to whoever is in power instead of standing on principle.
