What is Q-Day? Explore quantum computing risks, harvest-now-decrypt-later attacks, NIST post-quantum standards, and practical cybersecurity preparation.
Cryptofic retweeted
🚨WOW: Hedera’s Nilmini Rubin and Isadora Arredondo recently delivered a HUGE message to the Bretton Woods Committee ahead of the IMF–World Bank meetings!
The technology to move tokenised assets globally is READY, regulation must catch up.
$HBAR is positioning itself for the future of global finance!
Here we go again... so many hacking going on in crypto space, plus the bull market isn't so bullish.
Challenging stretch for CT this year.
Stay safe and WAGMI.
We owe you an apology.
On October 20, we detected unauthorized access to our official website. After verifying API activity with Shopify, we confirmed on October 23 that a third party obtained customer shipping information. You trusted us with those details, and we're sorry we didn't keep them safe.
Exposed: names, contact details, shipping addresses, and order details (items and prices).
Not exposed: payment card or bank details, recovery phrases, private keys, or wallet passwords.
We've blocked access, fixed the vulnerability, opened an investigation, and are emailing affected customers.
Scammers may pose as Keystone by phone, text, email, or mail, offering refunds, replacement devices, or "fixes" for your order or address. None of it is from us.
NEVER share your recovery phrase or private keys, and NEVER enter your recovery phrase into a device you didn't order. We will never ask for them. Don't click links in unexpected messages. Type keyst.one yourself.
A detailed report is coming soon.
Until then, trust only our official channels. If anything feels off, email [email protected]. We'd rather hear from you than have you take a chance.
Again, we're truly sorry to everyone affected.
HBAR update fo the day.
TL;DR: $HBAR is under heavy pressure. The price action is more like a grind lower / support test in a soft October 2026 market.
✅ Price action summary:
- Price & market: $0.076–$0.077 | Market cap $3.4B | Rank low-to-mid 30s
- Recent performance: Down 1–2% (24h), 9% (7d), 18–20% (30d), 56% (1y). October roughly –26%.
✅ Why it's under heavy pressure:
- No major @hedera-specific bad news: Network activity has been solid (prior large TPS jumps), modest TVL growth ($31–33M), AI tooling (Network MCP on testnet), and regulatory/enterprise moves (SEC commodity letter, UK taskforce, council seats).
- Main drivers: Broader crypto risk-off (follows BTC amid ETF outflows and macro concerns). High-beta alt behavior.
- Unwinding of a thin mid-October rally (15–17%) that lacked strong catalysts.
- Technical breakdown below $0.08 support, trading under key moving averages, weak buying, persistent selling. Oversold but momentum still soft.
✅ Future Outlook:
- Near-term: Testing critical support $0.075–$0.078. Hold = possible bounce toward $0.08–$0.085+. Break = risk toward low $0.07.
- Longer-term: Depends heavily on broader market recovery + adoption translating to demand. Bull cases target $0.13+ (or higher in a strong cycle) on enterprise/RWA/AI progress and regulatory clarity. Bear cases see continued range-bound or lower action if demand stays weak.
- Structural strengths (enterprise design, governance) remain, but price has lagged network metrics.

What are the benefits of staking your @0xhazels NFTs?
- Drops (Free Mint Launchpad): Active stakers get access with no FCFS or raffle between stakers.
- Pulse (creator campaigns): Stakers get the multiplier and, in some campaigns, guaranteed allocations when they meet the requirements.
- IP Collectibles / RWA participation pool: Planned 10% of positive distributable net collectibles profit allocated to eligible active stakers (target activation around Q2 2027).
- Private community / Discord: Available to verified holders and stakers.
They will remove the Glico Man on November 30, 2026. Should they change it with solana:3WPep4ufaToK1aS5s8BL9inzeUrt4DYaQCiic6ZkkC1U man, instead?

Question: Which one is more devastating? Y2Q or Y2K? 🤔
Short answer: Y2Q is theoretically more devastating than Y2K.
Long(-er) answer:
- Y2K: A known software date bug with a hard deadline (Jan 1, 2000). It risked operational failures (banking, utilities, etc.) but was largely fixed with a big global effort; actual damage was minimal.
- Y2Q (Q-Day): The uncertain future point when quantum computers can break public-key crypto (RSA, ECC, etc.) via Shor’s algorithm. This underpins most digital security, finance, communications, and signatures.
Why Y2Q is worse:
- No fixed date → harder to plan and prioritize.
- Adversarial (attackers, including "harvest now, decrypt later").
- Damage can be silent and retroactive.
- Affects foundational trust across the modern digital world rather than just date logic.
- Fix is a complex, multi-year migration to post-quantum cryptography, not a simple one-time patch.
With good preparation (PQC adoption), both can be mitigated. Unprepared, Y2Q has higher stakes and more persistent impact.
What's @quipnetwork role in this whole mess? 🦋
Quip Network is a project that helps fight Y2Q by giving existing crypto (Ethereum, Bitcoin L2s, etc.) post-quantum protection via hybrid signatures.
Hybrid signatures: normal signature + quantum-resistant hash-based signature.
No chain migration needed. It also runs a decentralized quantum computing marketplace.
CT needs to normalize artists making a boatload of money from their NFT projects.
That's the way to attract quality to the NFT space.
I've said this and I'll say it again: The NFT culture is broken. The cancel culture, the 'you-shall-make-your-nft-a-free-mint' narrative, etc.
And that has consequences.
As @cutemikaasa said, this will attract more AI slops. Not that I personally against AI, but I'm against degrading non-AI artist works to the level of AI slops.
• Artists are not supposed to move or spend any of the money they made from minting out their NFT collection
• Artists are not supposed to release any new artwork and have to stick to their first collection for the rest of their lives
• Artists are not supposed to make any money from their art, even earning royalties is considered greedy
And then you wonder why 9/10 upcoming mints are AI slop
Maybe it's because real artists don't want to deal with all the negativity from some toxic individuals in web3
In the real world, artists can do whatever they want with their money.
They can create and sell new artwork because that's literally what they do for a living.
It's their bread and butter

In this interesting clip about Q-day, Colton Dillion @cadillion (Founder of @quipnetwork) discusses the threat quantum computers pose to today's cryptography:
- Quantum computers can run Shor's algorithm, which can break current cryptographic keys.
-According to a technical report from @IonQ_Inc, the first such capable machines are expected around mid-2028.
- IonQ projects that by then it will be possible to run Shor's algorithm roughly once every 26 days, with about a 50% failure rate.
- At that pace, it would take roughly two months to successfully break one key.
- For a large exchange like Binance (with $13 billion in wallets), the practical response is key rotation - they change keys with every transaction.
Bottom line:
The clip frames this as a near-term (roughly two-year) risk that will force changes in how high-value crypto systems handle keys.
So, top priority, obviously.

What is @quipnetwork's role in Q-day (for now)?
Quip Network is one of the projects trying to offer deployable protection TODAY for crypto holdings without waiting for every chain to finish a full native PQC migration.
