78 years ago today over 7,000 prisoners of the German Nazi camp #Auschwitz, including some 700 children, were liberated by the soldiers of the Soviet Army. 1,689 days of murder, pain, suffering, and humiliation were over. Today we all remember. We must remember. | #Auschwitz78

Every child deserves to see themselves and their families reflected in the books they read.
Every student deserves the chance to see the world through a lens different than their own.
Every school should be providing them with these opportunities.
#BannedBooksWeek is a week to celebrate books and literature that challenge social norms, the exercise of free speech, and the value of free access to information, stories, and people. 📚
Banning LGBTQ+ related books in schools is wrong.
Banning LGBTQ+ stories is censorship.

Targeting Trans people, or the doctors that provide gender-affirming care is disgusting. Blame lies not just with right-wing supremacists, but also with platforms like twitter and TikTok that allows these hateful cultures to fester. Do better. #protecttranskids
Happening now: #Boston police set up a perimeter around Boston Children’s hospital after a bomb threat was called. Bomb squad called in. They report no one hurt and are sweeping the building.

Now, it’s time for working people to get the help they need.

The #AmericanRescuePlan will undoubtedly provide essential support to millions of families struggling with the effects of the pandemic. It’s also worth noting that *zero* Republicans voted for the bill in House or Senate.
The #AmericanRescuePlan has been signed into law by @POTUS! Billions in aid is heading to #RI to kick start our economy, open schools, get shots into arms, keep roofs over heads & put food on the table.
@HouseDemocrats are delivering on our promise of more relief #ForThePeople!
Thank you! Thank you to the advocates who pushed. And thank you @SenWhitehouse @SenJackReed @RepCicilline @JimLangevin for making this law. This bill provides some of the most progressive ideas and assistance at an important time.

The American Rescue Plan provides more than $10 billion to support America’s agriculture
And sets aside roughly half of it for disadvantaged communities, particularly Black farmers.
Big, bold, urgent COVID relief is on the way
Congratulations to our very own Paulette Hamilton on her new role as Director of Municipal Affairs in the @GovDanMcKee administration! Can’t wait to see what you accomplish for RI! nrinow.news/2021/03/03/forme…
