Like the withdrawal of Sally Rooney’s books and the arrest of thousands of peaceful protesters for simply holding signs, this appears to be yet another draconian consequence of the decision to proscribe Palestine Action. When I voted against that ban, I warned it would take us down a dangerous path that would undermine key democratic rights, including the freedom of expression. The proscription must be overturned and this clampdown on free speech reversed.

Reform UK deputy leader Richard Tice went on a trip to “the Gaza front line” in September 2025 funded by Reform Friends of Israel, where he concluded that the Gaza famine was a “blatant lie”. A few weeks after Tice’s visit, his chief of staff and other Reform figures undertook another trip which included a visit to the illegally occupied Golan Heights, which the UK recognises as part of Syria. They also visited Israel’s police headquarters, which is overseen by far-right national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who is sanctioned by the UK for “repeated incitement of violence against Palestinian civilians”. This trip was funded by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to newly released Israeli government data seen by Declassified and found by Berlin-based journalist Yossi Bartel. declassifieduk.org/israel-sp…

Abdul El-Sayed: “We are being actively bullied by the dumbest people in the room. Donald Trump is an idiot. He has one genius which is getting attention. Because his dad never gave him enough, because he was a nepo baby, he craved attention and used the bullying tactics to get it. But the man is an idiot. Just a fool”

Leaked Israeli documents reveal how Benjamin Netanyahu's government waged a secret campaign to stop boycotts of Israel in Britain. That included a "sensitive" meeting with Michael Gove -- when he was justice secretary in 2015 -- about countering the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement. Israel’s lobbying campaign was led by its justice minister Ayelet Shaked, who met Gove in London in November 2015. Shaked, from the far-right Jewish Home party, was alarmed by a European Commission plan to label goods produced on illegally occupied Palestinian land as originating from an “Israeli settlement”. The issue was consequently high on Shaked’s agenda, with the Israeli government fearing that the labels would help pro-Palestine boycott campaigns. Gove “enjoyed” meeting Shaked and specifically requested “more information” from the Israeli embassy on the labelling issue, the leaked emails show. Israel’s foreign ministry then arranged for an analysis to be prepared for Gove “as soon as possible” on the imminent EU measures. “I am aware of the workload, but there is an unusual window of opportunity here”, noted one Israeli official, apparently referring to Gove’s openness to guidance. declassifieduk.org/israels-s…

Much-needed food and aid is again being blocked from entering Gaza. The Government recently, and rightly, introduced new grounds for imposing sanctions on anyone obstructing aid. This week, I called for those powers to be used against anyone in Israel blocking aid to Gaza.

They should impeach Trump just for this. Disgusting.
Alex Pretti's father: Our son was shot and killed by the government, federal immigration agents, on January 24th, 2026. We learned about his death from the media as we saw him being shot repeatedly in the back after helping a woman from his community. This was not a protest that Alex was at. His hands were in the air, and his face was on the ground when he was executed by ICE agents. We know exactly what our eyes saw. No one from the federal government called us on that day. But they did go on TV to tell lies about Alex. No one has called us since. No one has recanted those lies.

Zuckerberg already admitted it wrongly suspended the No Kings Instagram account during the peak of a massive voter-mobilization effort. Now, seven days before the midterms, Zuckerberg has suspended the account Angie Nixon’s Senate campaign uses to organize Latino voters. At what point do repeated “mistakes” that suppress organizing by Democrats become an election-integrity crisis?
🚨 BREAKING: Meta has suspended Angie Nixon's organizing account ahead of the midterms. Nixon is the Democratic nominee for US Senate in Florida.

Netanyahu and his allies have beaten the opposition in the Jewish Israeli vote. That's despite: - Presiding over October 7th - Netanyahu being on trial on charges of bribery and fraud - A cost of living and housing crisis - Attacks on the judiciary - Outrage over shielding ultra-Orthodox Jews from conscription - The Qatargate scandal - The disastrous Iran war - The Israeli establishment rationally believing that Netanyahu was making their state a pariah, and organising to get rid of him - The opposition overwhelmingly also supporting the genocide, occupation and illegal settlements If we include Ofer Winter's party - which pledged to support Netanyahu for prime minister, but hasn't crossed the threshold - then so far 51.5% of the non-Arab list vote went to the Netanyahu bloc. With 84.4% of votes counted, among the non-Arab list bloc, the opposition has only increased its share of the vote by about 1.6 points. Ben-Gvir and Smotrich stood separately this time, but are set to win almost the same combined number of seats as last time. The latter in alliance with Moshe Feiglin, who declared "Every child, every baby in Gaza is an enemy." The only significant shift is the surge in support for the Palestinian-led parties. But most of the opposition is opposed to working with them. Avigdor Lieberman, for example, has taken even more extreme positions towards Palestinians than Netanyahu himself. If they do a pact with the Palestinian-led parties, not only would it not last long, it would produce a huge right-wing backlash. That the opposition could on paper form an arithmetical majority with the support of the Palestinian-led parties - but absolutely will not - trashes the "well if the small minority of Palestinians who remained in Israel after the Nakba can vote, then Israel is a democracy for all its citizens" nonsense. A very likely prospect is that this will pave the way for new elections. The two right-wing parties which didn't cross the threshold would likely not stand again, boosting Netanyahu. The same huge mobilisation of Palestinian citizens of Israel would likely not transpire. Netanyahu and his allies would likely benefit from shock at the unexpected surge in support for the Palestinian-led parties. The opposition would be demoralised by its failure, and Netanyahu strengthened by having come out on top in this election. So it's best to bet on Netanyahu winning a coming election. What does all this mean? Any illusions that change can happen within Israeli society should long ago have been destroyed. The opposition would have continued the genocide, the occupation, apartheid and colonisation. But as Israel's support in the West collapsed, Israel's cheerleaders pushed the position that Netanyahu was the bogeyman, and that a shift in figurehead could allow the state to do a PR relaunch. Netanyahu isn't Israel, we were told. Well that's true in the sense that on many key issues, Israeli society is actually more extreme than Netanyahu. This baseless illusion is now dead and buried. There must now be a much more determined push for a total arms embargo and sweeping sanctions on Israel. Those arguing that Israel is something it plainly is not are now completely and utterly discredited.

A message to those who still believe that it all started on October 7. No, it didn't. A 'managed genocide', to keep 1.5 million Palestinians "on the edge of life" was in force years before. Read the latest report by Eyal Weizman: "A military document called ‘Red Lines’ set the minimum number of calories required to sustain Gaza’s population at a level just above the UN definition of hunger (2100 calories a day for men, 1700 for women and a varying amount for children depending on gender and age). The total number of calories was translated into the tonnage required to feed Gaza’s then population of 1.5 million and thus the number of aid trucks allowed into the territory. The same went for megawatts of electricity and litres of fuel and water. What was seen as good behaviour was rewarded by an increase in the amounts coming in, any acts of resistance by the tightening of the siege, like a population-scale version of a Milgram experiment." lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v48/n20/…

Yes Mr Blair: Palestinians in Gaza and elsewhere need an end to genocide, Israel's militarised colonisation and apartheid. They need respect for Intl Law and justice. They also need no more advice from those who have profited from their misery for too long. Be kind. Step aside
“There is talk of ‘Free Palestine’, but for Palestinians living in Gaza, they don’t need a slogan; they need a solution,” said former UK Prime Minister and founding member of US President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace, Tony Blair.

You even gave it a name: Operation Epic Fury. You said it would take 4–6 weeks. It’s been 8 months. In 8 days, investigations into your war crimes will being.

On this Israeli election day, I’d recommend reading this extraordinary @haaretzcom interview with billionaire Ronald Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress and once one of Benjamin Netanyahu’s closest confidants. One of Lauder’s most striking conclusions: “I realized at the end of the day that Israel really didn't want peace, but they wanted dominance.” This is coming from someone who helped launch Netanyahu’s political career, introduced him to powerful figures in American politics and media, and secretly negotiated with Hafez al-Assad and Rafik Hariri on his behalf in the late 1990s. In one of the interview’s biggest revelations, Lauder says Netanyahu agreed to a comprehensive peace deal with Syria and Lebanon, including withdrawal from the Golan Heights, but ultimately refused to sign it for political reasons. “He chose politics over peace. He put his political future before the deal.” Now 82, Lauder describes his profound disillusionment with Israel’s direction. After decades of supporting Israeli and Jewish institutions, he has sold his Tel Aviv apartment, given away his Be’er Sheva property, and says he has no intention of returning to Israel. He warns that Netanyahu’s dependence on figures like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich is damaging Israel, alienating diaspora Jews and eroding support in Washington. The interview is also full of fascinating details about Lauder’s role in Netanyahu’s political rise. The two became close friends in the 1980s, when Netanyahu was Israel’s ambassador to the UN, speaking almost daily at times. Lauder says he introduced Netanyahu to speech coach Lilyan Wilder to improve his public speaking and, crucially, to Republican strategist Arthur Finkelstein, who would become instrumental in Netanyahu’s electoral success. When Netanyahu left New York to pursue a political career in Israel, Lauder threw him a farewell party attended by some of the most influential figures in American media and politics, including Rupert Murdoch and the head of the New York Times. Lauder recalls opening doors for Netanyahu and helping him cultivate the relationships that would underpin his rise to power. What makes this interview so revealing is that Lauder is no longtime critic of Israel. He had been a committed Zionist, a Republican power broker, and a man who spent decades financing Jewish institutions, cultivating relationships with Arab leaders, and pursuing diplomatic openings on Israel’s behalf. A fascinating read 👇 haaretz.com/israel-news/elec…

Doesn't seem to mind as much when it's the Qataris who are giving them a $400 million private jet. He just seems to have trouble pronouncing it when it's my name.  I don't care how he pronounces my name. I don't even care that he remembers my whole name. Because he can just go on and call me senator after November.

Nobody wants to buy a service they can’t walk away from. Palantir’s critics have long claimed we ‘lock in’ our customers. We don’t. This short film explains why. It’s the first in a series on the gap between the rhetoric about Palantir and the work we actually do.
