Not sustainable.
The location of this incident is still unknown, but chaotic scenes like this in NYC must stop! A handcuffed woman appears to attempt to punch a NYPD officer incredibly while still being handcuffed and gets knocked out unconscious, a man attacks an NYPD officer attending to her, and bystanders fuel the mayhem. This lawlessness is becoming all too common in NYC under @NYPDPC Jessica Tisch, @NYCMayor Zohran Mamdani and @NYCCouncil . Enough is enough!

The @NatPoliceAssoc has endorsed the Improving Law Enforcement Officer Safety and Wellness Through Data Act (S. 1418 / H.R. 2240).
Having access to expanded data points via crime-reporting systems like LEOKA would provide police agencies and policymakers with information needed to prevent assaults, improve officer training, and allocate protective resources.
The House passed H.R. 2240 in May by 403 to 11.

The bill now rests in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Please ask your U.S. senators to support it.
Thank you, Sen. @ChuckGrassley and @RepTimMooreNC for introducing this important bill, and to those lawmakers who have already supported it.

Probably the same as many young people of that era who watched Adam-12 and became cops.

I would really like to ask Kevin Tighe if he ever thought about how many young people became paramedics, EMTs or fire fighters because of that show and how many lives those people have saved over the last 50+ years.

🚨 15TH DISTRICT: ILLEGAL FIREARM AND NARCOTICS ARREST 🚨
Officers assigned to the Tact Team were conducting patrol near Wayman Street and Cicero Avenue when they observed suspicious activity involving an individual attempting to conceal suspected narcotics.
During the investigation, officers observed a handgun protruding from the individual’s pocket. A subsequent recovery resulted in the seizure of a loaded 9mm handgun, along with suspected narcotics, including heroin and crack cocaine packaged for distribution.
The individual was taken into custody, and the case was presented to the Cook County Felony Review Unit, where felony charges were approved.
Our commitment remains strong: The 15th District will continue working to remove illegal firearms and suspected narcotics from our streets to help protect our communities and make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.

We support HALO laws, but when an officer or 2 are in a tussle and get surrounded by a dozen agitators, the HALO law won't help because it can't be enforced. Every department needs roaming anti crime units ala NYPD's SCU to be able to respond and resolve those scenarios.
