The duties and roles of a Member of National Assembly are four, and I have summarized them here in Swahili. The People of Westlands, you know that I have the capacity and competency to perform those duties and roles. Let me serve you
I engaged with workers in the hospitality industry in Westlands Constituency, listened to their concerns and views, and sought their support in my quest to serve them as Member of National Assembly. We are not leaving anyone behind or anything to chance.
A patriotic environmentalist Kenyan here. Despite having more than enough trees on his property, he has planted and is taking care of more trees on the road reserve.
This is what we should do on all road reserves starting with Ngong Road. Look at the brighter side of it, the trees may be useful for Affordable Housing timber and affordable charcoal fuel as we bring Singapore to Kenya. Why go all the way to Aberdares if you can get timber and wood in Nairobi?
I think you should let others call you Honourable and that it is even impertinent to introduce yourself with the prefix Honourable as an aspirant. If we do not know, we need not know.
I think you should let others call you Honourable as an elected leader, and that it is even impertinent to call yourself Honourable as an aspirant.
Who gives approvals and ensures that buildings are not constructed without approvals?
The Nairobi City County Government spends a lot of time and money on the rickety old matutu rounding up hawkers instead of enforcing laws on illegal developments.

A manhunt for a suspect wanted in connection with the murders of prominent Nairobi lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu and Dr. Victoria Nthunya Mutiso has culminated in his arrest, marking a significant breakthrough in the two investigations.
Inspector Kenneth Kipkemboi Sang, who had been on the run, was arrested by a team of detectives from DCI Headquarters following actionable intelligence that led them to Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu County.
The breakthrough came along Uganda Road in Eldoret’s Central Business District, where detectives intercepted Sang as he drove a silver Toyota Fielder, registration number KCM 508L.
At the time, he was reportedly in the process of selling the vehicle to raise money for his daily upkeep.
His arrest brings a key suspect who had remained at large into police custody, marking a significant step forward in the two murder investigations.
Detectives are now pursuing further leads to establish the full circumstances surrounding the killings and determine whether other individuals were involved.
Following his arrest, Sang was escorted to Eldoret Police Station for processing pending arraignment.
The DCI remains resolute in its pursuit of justice for the victims and their families. No rank, status or affiliation places anyone above the law. Detectives will continue following every credible lead to ensure that all those involved are brought before the courts to face their charges.

This stretch of Parklands Road still needs a footpath.
@KURAroads @Roads_KE @PSRoads_Ke @davis_chirchir @TheIEK
This is Ojijo Road. Excavation is underway, destroying the existing elaborate storm water drainage and pedestrian walkway. Does anyone know what the works are? I do not know.
@KURAroads owes us a duty to display the signboard of the project so that we can query the propriety of the same. For now, we can only conclude that this is a scheme to steal public funds because there is no problem on Ojijo Road requiring repairs.
Senior Counsel is exempt from CPD.
How has SC Orengo managed to appear in court and litigate matters, yet he has consistently failed to acquire at least 5 CPD points needed to renew Practicing Certificate?
Kama ni one of the benefits of SC'ism si mngeniambia niandike kwa CLE PE Paper in 2024 to wit: That SC's are exception to CPD Events to renew their PC's.
Assuming that was true why has his peers ie GM and Ojienda been consistently pursuing CPD events to renew their PC's?

I am deeply devastated to learn of the catastrophic multi-storey building collapse that has occurred today in 9th Street, Eastleigh, Nairobi.
I extend my deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to the families who have tragically lost their loved ones, those left with devastating injuries and to those anxiously waiting for news of survivors.
Immediate priority and support should be accorded the rescue teams working tirelessly on the ground to save lives.
These recurring disasters are not unpredictable accidents; they are avoidable tragedies born out of institutional greed, professional shortcuts, and an absolute breakdown of law enforcement.
Construction in Kenya is regulated with various institutions funded by the tax payer vested with oversight. This was a preventable tragedy caused by human failure, greed, and a complete breakdown of official oversight.
I strongly condemn the regulatory bodies and enforcement authorities and officers whose blatant failure to execute their statutory duties continues to put public safety at risk. It is unacceptable that rogue developers continue to bypass construction laws, use substandard materials, and erect unsafe structures right under the noses of those with a fundamental duty to protect citizens. This tragedy is a direct result of institutional neglect, patchy inspections, and a culture of corruption that allows safety approvals to be bought instead of strictly being adhered to. Those who signed off on this building, or looked the other way for personal gain, have blood on their hands.
People pay for regulatory incompetence with their lives. I am demanding immediate and uncompromising action:
a) Immediate Arrests and Prosecution: Criminal investigations must begin immediately targeting the developers, contractors, and every single regulatory official who approved or ignored the Eastleigh Buidling. They must face full accountability for criminal negligence and manslaughter.
b)Emergency Safety Audits: Enforcement teams must launch an immediate, comprehensive audit of all ongoing and recently completed high-rise developments in the area to identify and shut down structurally compromised buildings before they collapse.
c)Total Regulatory Reform: We must clean up the building approval sector, removing corrupt officials and replacing broken systems with transparent, strictly enforced tracking and oversight.
d)An End to Institutional Corruption: A transparent, non-duplicated approval system must be institutionalized to block the gaps where oversight is traded for financial favors.
The bodies charged with guarding our lives must be held to account, and they must act before the next tragedy strikes.

The student continues to work under strict supervision. The open manholes at the junction of Prof Wangari Maathai Road and Parklands Road have now been sealed. The debris is being cleared, and moulding boards being removed from the site.
There is more debris at the end of the site which @KURAroads should ensure is cleared and the works completed within a reasonable time. As I said yesterday, the problem is legal compliance and enforcement which we the People can take over and perform.
Building and construction falls under her Ministry but her priorities are elsewhere.
The infrastructure menace in Kenya in respect of the construction of buildings and roads is caused by two problems. One, lack or avoidance of legal compliance supported and facilitated by the National and County Governments. Two, lack or avoidance of enforcement supported and facilitated by the National and County Governments.
For Nairobi City County and in particular, the “New York” and “Singapore” death trap skyscrapers, President William Ruto and Governor Johnson Sakaja are 100% liable. The declaration in the first frame was made by the two of them not so long ago, and not far away from the building that collapsed today. These towers of Babel will continue falling down.
This information is useful. It should be available on a signboard of every property or building under construction.
Today, we were at Shanzu Road, plot No 48 and there was no signboard. We will name and shame the CS behind the development if you do not ensure compliance.
Urgently stop the construction on the property and/or ensure the signboard is displayed for us to examine and evaluate the legality of the ongoing development.

What Karen Nyamu is saying is just the tip of the iceberg. Leaders openly admitting to crimes and manipulating systems with impunity reflect a deeper rot. At pur watch, meritocracy is dying and institutions are being eroded. This is why the Rule of Law agenda matters.
Karen Nyamu: I recently tried to help a very staunch campaigner of mine join the police force. Tukakarabati (we forged) a form 4 certificate.
She went to Kiganjo for training, but after investigations, she was arrested for forgery alongside 17 others.
