This is a great decision in one of the trio of cases challenging blanket closure in family court in Nevada. The decision makes clear that there is a First Amendment right to civil proceedings (as well as criminal, which was already clear), and that family court is no exception.

"Lyon County Sheriff Brad Pope said in a release that media will not be allowed to ask questions after the press conference. Each media outlet is limited to one question and it must be submitted by Friday afternoon."
That is ridiculous.
The Lyon County Sheriff's Office has a press conference scheduled next week after murder suspect Troy Driver was found dead in his jail cell over the weekend.
