Hopefully the change in practice that we need as patients will finally happen.
Every day, women seek medical attention for symptoms of heart disease, such as chest pain or shortness of breath, only to be dismissed or told that routine testing did not show any problems.
It's time to break the cycle and give every patient an accurate diagnosis.
Our work, led by @CigarroaNatasha, funded by @whryale, and now published in @JAHA_AHA, shows that in women with heart disease, coronary function testing can give us an accurate diagnosis, and as a result more intensive treatment with medications that are proven to improve symptoms and quality of life @yalecardiology @YaleMed @heart_spasms
