I was watching a bunch of trailers for upcoming movies last night. It feels like Hollywood doesn't get it lately. You cannot keep making movies/series targeted at niche audiences, spending 100s of millions, and expect huge profits. I'll just go play an indie video game instead.

100%. Being a SAHM is a more than full-time job, not easy, many times monotonous and lonely, is not always rewarding, etc. Especially when the kids are young. Unfortunately, it's a job many people don't value these days. I have huge respect for the women who are SAHMs.

People need to remember that not everyone wants to live the way they do. I never want to live in or vaguely near NYC. The rare times I have visited over the years, I couldn't wait to leave.

Remember what the city did to Daniel Perry. It doesn't pay to get involved to try to help these days.

I love how USB-C was supposed to be a universal standard, but there are different types of USB-C. There are USB-C cables that are "Thunderbolt Certified". And then, inside that, there are passive and active Thunderbolt cables. #ugh Thank you to @CalDigitSupport for the assist!

There were a TON of good people laid off this year from far better companies than PwC. They need to understand that the common denominator in all their failed recruiting efforts is them. Or they're going to have to allow remote workers and pull from more areas of the country.

Just because they want that doesn't mean they'll get it. I say apply anyhow. I have gotten many jobs I don't meet 100% of the criteria on the job listing, but I have other skills that make up for it, and I can learn the specifics of what they also want as I go.

I already tried that and I was told I had to cancel my booking and book it under my wife's name as she will be the one picking the car up for us.

Hey @Hertz, why can I not book a car for my wife to drive like I can book a plane ticket for her to fly without me? If she will be the "primary driver," even though I will be there to drive it too, 2 days later, and the car has to be booked under her name, what's the point in being loyal and using Hertz for this rental?

Everything about this video is synthetic... What even is reality anymore?

The more time goes on, the more I think the USA needs to treat junk "food" like tobacco was treated. Require labeling on all junk food to say something like, "This product is known to contribute to obesity and shorten your life if consumed regularly." First, we need official designations of what constitutes junk food and what "regularly" means. Companies and people will complain, but something has to change in this country in this regard and QUICKLY. I am privileged enough to be working with a health coach, @Mangan150, but most people cannot. It's not cheap, but neither are the meds I was taking or the future I am facing if I don't make changes. About 5 weeks ago, my wife and I changed what we eat to be vastly simpler, simple proteins, even more vegetables, no, and almost no processed foods. We are both down ~8 pounds each, feel better overall, and I am off depression/anxiety meds. It has not been easy, but either I do this ASAP, or I am likely going to be in a *really* bad situation in the coming years. The irony is the anxiety about that bad situation is the major cause of my depression, crippling anxiety, and bad eating. A feedback loop. I need to drop, at minimum, around 200lbs (90kg) of fat. That is what I am shooting for initially.

That's why in Seattle the light rail originally stopped 1 mile before the airport. Finally, some politicians a few years ago had a backbone and said, "too bad" and ran it to the airport and points south.

Another question is how are they achieving the strong consistency and how many ms are added for each operation. Regardless, you still cannot do a read and a write/update with that value in the same transaction and everything is consistent, like a real database would want.

What about other serverless services that are not owned by AWS, but are hosted by AWS? You don't mention any, but there are lots out there that would help with some/all the things you are talking about.

SpaceX just completed its 17th launch in 31 days. Could NASA, even in its heyday, have gotten to this frequency of launches? I seriously doubt it. As much as I loved watching launches of the space shuttle as a kid, watching the launch and landing of SpaceX rockets is amazing and never gets old. I know landing the boosters is routine right now, but it's still incredible to watch and think of the science, math, and engineering that goes into doing this.
Falcon 9 lifts off from pad 40 in Florida, completing our 17th launch in 31 days!

The add-on would be to make for-pay training programs and tell people if they don't take them, they'll lose their job.
