Little updated for everyone since this has changed since February. The price of electricity in Alberta has gone UP in the last month. On the odd chance anyone wants to know how much cheaper solar would be.

Why is no one talking about Jared Kushner being at the center of the plot that ultimately led to an American journalist being dismembered via bone saw while he was still alive?

30 search warrants, multiple RCMP investigations, a Crown prosecutor brought in from the Organized Crime Unit, OAG probe and at least four cases currently before the courts involving related matters.
And that’s not enough for you?

A few years ago I was at a dinner with Israeli politicians and journalists and made the mistake of asking why, given how large Israeli coalitions are, no party of Palestinian citizens of Israel had held a ministry or a cabinet post. Maybe minister for forests or motorised sports?

I have got to be honest. I dont think we are anywhere near the end of the war in Ukraine.
Russia shows no signs of being willing to compromise or being reasonable or realistic. Now they apparently raise a demand that the rest of Eastern Europe have to leave NATO. And they still want to have all of Ukraine.
Europe is not going to abandon hundreds of millions of people in Eastern Europe to live under Russian tyranny again.
We are ten times stronger than Russia and we are not going to agree to such insane demands.
Russia is on the defensive in Ukraine. Over the past six months they have lost - not gained - territory. Their oil refineries are destroyed. Their economy is being crippled and there is no victory in sight for them. Compared to Europe they have a small population and a very small and not very advanced economy.
The only problem is that Russia does not understand this and continues to act like they can bully and threaten their way to dominance over a Europe that is so much stronger than them.
We want peace. Of course. Since the fall of the USSR we have shown no aggression to Russia but have only wanted to live as good and peaceful neighbours. There is literally nobody in Europe that wants war with Russia. It is a mindset that does not exist.
But we are not going to surrender to Russia's insane idea that their weak country has a right to rule half of Europe. As long they stick to that, there will be no settlement. So the war will probably continue for a long time which is a tragedy and a disaster.

Wow.
"Judge Ana Reyes has spent weeks watching this administration ignore her. On Monday, she put all of it on the record.
Her ruling blocks the administration from cutting down any more trees at East Potomac Golf Links, a 106-year-old public course.
The Interior Department had ignored her earlier decision and felled roughly 500 trees without permission. Under the ruling, the administration also has to give 10 days’ notice before any further work.
The line that will follow this administration around is about his own lawyers.
“Rarely, if ever, has the United States Department of Justice urged a federal court not to believe the sitting President,” Reyes wrote.
Then she listed what they wanted her not to believe.
“Not to believe him that a cabinet secretary has ‘developed’ a federal land project. Not to believe him that the secretary’s agency will destroy a historic golf course already on the land. Not to believe him that ‘Restoration work’ will begin ‘IMMEDIATELY!’ Not to believe him that the course ‘will be closed’ for over a year. Not to believe what Trump has repeatedly told the American public. And yet, here we are.”
She explained what the case had turned into.
“This started as a case about golf. That good walk spoiled. But it has become much more. It now forces the Court to reconcile assertions by Donald J. Trump with the sworn testimony of multiple government employees and the argument of senior Department of Justice attorneys.”
She closed by returning to something she’d said at a September hearing.
“The Court earlier stated, ‘I am not the Lorax. I do not speak for the trees.’ The Court still does not speak for the trees. It speaks only for the rule of law.”
A federal judge used Dr. Seuss to tell Trump he isn’t above the law. She’d earned the right to: his government had cut down about 500 trees after assuring her it wouldn’t.
He answered with 343 words of grievance on Truth Social. Trump called the ruling “unconstitutional” and complained about giving notice “to a judge who has no expertise in Golf, Architecture, Landscaping, Construction, or anything else having to do with building such a World Class Project.”
He argued the course is “extremely dangerous to play” because of “the echoing throughout the air of the word, ‘FORE!’”
The White House says it expects to be “vindicated on appeal,” and Trump says work starts November 15 regardless.
Earlier this month, Reyes said the government had lost its “credibility.” At this point, that’s the most generous reading available."
