Norway is appalled and deeply saddened by Friday’s horrific attack. Attacks against civilians and places of worship are unacceptable.

We extend our sincere condolences to the Norwegian Royal Family and the people of Norway at this time of loss. His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf also expressed his condolences and deep sorrow in a statement issued by @kungahuset.

It is was an honour meeting President Aoun in Beirut. I expressed Norway’s solidarity with Lebanon and reiterated our long-standing commitment.
We support Lebanon's call for a full ceasefire. The Israeli attacks on 🇱🇧civilians & infrastructure are unacceptable and must cease.

My last visit to Syria was in January 2025, only weeks after the fall of Assad. In Damascus today, President @AH_AlSharaa and I reflected on the progress made in building a new, inclusive Syria. While challenges remain, I am impressed by the progress made. 🇳🇴 is proud to support.
