Every year for past 20+ years, my old friend, Ramdeo Aggarwal, hosts a post Budget discussion and get together. We old timers hang out, discuss the Budget, drink, and shoot the breeze with general bs. When LTCG was imposed in 2018 , I was aghast that evening. I said: this is disaster. Will have long term impact. The reaction from many, almost all in fact, who are now doing chest beating: " Naah...it doesn't matter. It's time equity investors started paying taxes, specially F2s. Why should goras make money for free in our great stock market. " Some people writing articles on this topic now had the same opinion. When LTCG was increased a few Budgets ago, I again said the same thing. And the Elite gathering, without exception, again shrugged and said: "It's all good. It's a great move". So much for Experts' long term analytical & predictive skills

How much would you tip on a $300 bill? I came to restaurant and pay for cooked food, table and service. All that should be included into the bill. I shouldn't pay extra for someone's job. It's restaurant's commitment, not mine

During the January 6th attack on the nation's Capitol, Daniel Rodriguez drove a stun gun into the neck of Officer Mike Fanone. He was knocked unconscious, had a heart attack and suffered a traumatic brain injury. It ended his career. Rodriguez got over 12 years in prison for his assault on police. On day one, Donald Trump gave him a "full, complete and unconditional pardon" and sent him home. This is far and away the most corrupt White House in American history.

🚨 SUPREME COURT | “Can you show any justification for this loot?” A cancer patient’s husband, a medical distributor, told the Supreme Court that an injection available to him at a dealer price of ₹11,000 was allegedly priced at ₹1.30 lakh by a reputed hospital, which refused to administer the injection he offered. “Why this difference? Where does the money go?” Justice Sandeep Mehta asks the Centre.

SO FUCKING RACIST! Not only did they call the police, but his team refunded his money and kicked them off the team. 🚨🚨🚨Yes, a 3-year-old soccer player named Nevada was removed from his youth league, and his family received a refund after police were called to the field. What Happened •The Incident: Nevada was playing in an i9 Sports youth soccer league in Winter Park, Florida. At 3 years old, he was playing in a division against children around 5 years old. • •The Complaints: Opposing parents complained that Nevada was dominating possession, keeping the ball too long, and scoring multiple goals (reportedly scoring up to 10 in a game) because the older children could not take the ball away from him. Some parents accused the toddler of "trying to put on a show". • •Police Involvement: The league issued a trespass notice against the family, and police officers arrived to escort Nevada and his parents away from the field in front of the other children and spectators. • •The Aftermath: The family was removed from the program and received a full refund for their Fall 2026 registration, sharing footage of the incident on social media where it went viral

I honestly don’t know if the government will undertake any tax reforms for the capital markets. If they do so at all, the changes should benefit local investors as well, not only foreign investors. We are not lesser mortals. Indian retail investors take risks even with small amounts of capital. In a capital starved nation, risk capital should be rewarded regardless of whether it comes from foreign or local sources.

You can repeal the law but the fundamental right to privacy still remains and we have already seen how the Delhi HC has weaponised it against the media.
Now even legacy media is challenging the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act which severely weakens people’s right to information and curtails press freedom. The petition terms the provisions of the Act as “pre-censorship which is anathema to any democracy”. The DPDP Act in its current form should be repealed!

Centre tells Supreme Court that India has one of the lowest cost of medicines in the world during the hearing of the matter about huge markups in MRP of medicines. Bench: Don't go into lowest cost. Then we will also have to talk about low per capita income and many other things in India.

Excellent point. Simply calling something cheap without taking into account the income is absurd. What we call as cheap is costly in a nation with per capita income of USD 3000. @NotProsaicview

She got what she voted for.... Meet die-hard MAGAt and three-time Trump supporter Sandra Hafraoui, an administrative professional who spent years enthusiastically voting for aggressive mass deportations, completely confident her own front door was bulletproof. Her politics were beautifully simple: robust border walls, uncompromising immigration enforcement, and absolute faith that the MAGA machine would strictly target "the worst of the worst" while bypassing her comfortable American life. That blind faith shattered on August 11 at Newark Liberty International Airport when ICE agents intercepted her Moroccan-born husband, Abdellatif, as the couple tried to board a flight for a Florida vacation. It turns out the federal immigration apparatus doesn't pause to check your spouse's voting record before enforcing an in absentia deportation order left behind by a fraudulent lawyer who was federally sentenced back in 2013 for scamming clients. The exact system Sandra cheered on treated her husband precisely like the people she voted to expel. He was shipped across facilities from New Jersey to Arizona, subjected to sleep deprivation, and thrown into solitary confinement for 10 days for refusing a forced flight, leaving Sandra to scramble for a $15,000 bond until his eventual release on November 26 after 108 days of state-sponsored trauma. The staggering hypocrisy is a masterclass in political myopia. Sandra openly admitted she supported these brutal policies under the assumption they would only happen to other families, only discovering the cruelty of the system once it directly ruined her life and drained her bank account.

"If the Supreme Court had been vigilant, the Election Commission would never have reached this miserable state." says Prashant Kishore
🚨MASSIVE BREAKING : Prashant Kishor brutally EXPOSED Supreme Court🔥 Kishor just said what every Indian is thinking🔥 SC issued a notice to the Election Commission today. PK's reply: > "Nothing will happen just because the Supreme Court issued a notice" > "Under the Supreme Court's nose, the model code of conduct was broken" > "Under the Supreme Court's nose, votes were bought in Bihar by spending ₹20,000 crore" > "And the Supreme Court said it doesn't want to intervene" Then the line that hits hardest: "If the Supreme Court had been vigilant, the Election Commission would never have reached this miserable state." Think about it for a second. > Voter rolls, poll dates, MCC, money, religion, caste, counting > PK says on every single one, EC stands with the ruling party > And he's right that removing Gyanesh Kumar alone fixes nothing, because the rot is the system Dear Supreme Court, You are the guardian of the Constitution. Notices don't protect democracy. Action does. When the referee is compromised and the guardian stays silent, who does the voter turn to? NOTICES WON'T SAVE DEMOCRACY. ACTION WILL 🗿🔥

The Supreme Court has rejected Asaram’s plea to extend his 20-day parole granted on medical grounds, directing him to surrender at Jodhpur Central Jail by 5 pm on Tuesday. Asaram, who is serving a life sentence for the rape of a minor, had sought more time for treatment. The court asked the Rajasthan government to ensure proper medical care for him. The next hearing in his appeal is scheduled for November 6, 2026. #Asaram #SupremeCourt #SupremeCourtOfIndia #Jodhpur #Parole @sanjoomewati

This is not procurement. This is Acceptance of Necessity, which means that the defence ministry accepts that the defence services need these platforms, weapons or equipment. The process to buy starts thereafter and takes many years, even decades.
