It’s very encouraging that funders support projects like YCharOS, which does not address hypotheses, but rather does the foundational, but not sexy, work of testing and characterizing reagent antibodies in order to make everyone else’s science more robust and reproducible.
CQDM is proud to announce the funding of a collaborative research project made possible through a grant of nearly Can$1.49M from the Government of Quebec (@economie_quebec). A project of @YCharOS1 in partnership with @mcgillu. 👉cqdm.org/en/news-and-events/…

Non-animal derived antibodies and affinity reagents are part of the solution. We are working to accelerate their uptake as alternatives to traditional antibodies that are more reproducible and replace animal use. nc3rs.org.uk/news/recommenda….

We are working with the OGA to raise awareness of the importance of improving reproducibility of research involving antibodies, for better science that is more efficient, reliable and reduces or replaces the use of animals. nc3rs.org.uk/news/improving-…

Fantastic to see our work with the @OGA_Community highlighted in this article. Poor antibodies waste research funding and time, delay scientific progress and drug development, and lead to unnecessary animal use where in vivo experiments or animal-derived products are involved.
Poorly performing antibodies have plagued biomedical sciences for decades. Several fresh initiatives hope to change this go.nature.com/3NYdY42
