Here’s the thing….Arbuckle and Venables have done this to themselves with their refusal to look at any quarterback other than John Mateer. Arbuckle has tried RPO game…quick game…short game…half field rollouts…12/13 personnel…empty sets…Mateer just is what he is (a BAD QB) and his inability to read a defense, see the field, and trigger just negates any consistency/effectiveness for the offense. Do all the other facets of the offense need to be better? Of course. But again…a competent QB changes everything and now…with no goals on the table and staring a losing season in the face, it will ultimately most likely cost people their jobs…and it should.
