The Omega Man (1971) - A Discussion teapawt.org/i/broadcasts/1qxoNYAgd…

Good morning. We've made some good strides for our friend Jacob Ironside and his family, but there is a ways to go. His stay in the ICU and CCH, where he is still admitted and will be for the foreseeable future, will be terribly expensive. His post-hospital needs and care will also carry a heavy price tag. Respiratory equipment and care, a hospital bed, a lift van to replace the family's now non-functional 25 year old van. Jacob is a good friend and one of the absolute nicest people in our fellowship. Please help him and his family. Please give if you can. Please continue to pray for Jacob and his family. Please share. Thank you. gofund.me/8c1577933 #pleasepray #pleasehelp #pleasegive

LIVE TONIGHT at 5:00pst! Join @SW_of_Dragons @las_protege @JacobIronside @untamed_mando @thtadthtshldntb @sammy3peat, and I, with Special Guest, Sergeant Giratina @Ninjakhan, as we discuss THE Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)! Imagine if your best friend, your brother, your wife; someone you’ve known all or most of your life, was somehow changed, but exactly the same. You know they are not that person despite everything screaming the contrary. This is the premise for one of the masterpieces of science fiction. There are two themes at work in Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It was the height of the Red Scare, with a Communist behind every closed door (something we should have taken more seriously), and paranoia of who was or wasn’t who they seemed was very real. Also, the loss of humanity in the modern age. An alien seed pod growing a soulless, emotionless, duplicate of a person and that person becoming part of a larger, expanding threat to humanity didn’t seem that big a stretch in 1956. We’ll be discussing plot, writing, direction, casting, acting, music, all that movie making magic! Let’s talk paranoia! Let’s Talk Invasion of the Body Snatchers!
