1st presented by Sir Robert Peel in 1829, community policing began as an idea that every community member shares responsibility for preventing crime. Nearly 200 years later, that philosophy continues. Find training here: bit.ly/3qQzzQL

Designed by students, driven by SROs. This is how we do. 😎🚔
Five students from Thornton high schools won our first Design the Shield contest, and their artwork is now on the patrol cars our school resource officers drive to campus every day!
Last week, we celebrated these talented students and their families at #ThorntonPD headquarters. Stay tuned, we’ll be featuring each student designer over the next few days. 👀
Compliance, training, grants and... knitting? 🧶 Chris Liley represented POST at DOL's First Annual Craft Fair, showing that our team members' wonderful talents extend well beyond the workplace. 👏 #ColoradoPOST

Officer Alijah Halliburton did not come from a police family. He had no intentions of becoming a police officer after college, so how did he end up in uniform and not just liking it, but in his words 'loving it' along the way?
Ride along with Officer Halliburton as he shares his story, including a connection to a certain NFL quarterback star that dates back to their days at the University of Wyoming.

The Blue Envelope Program
At the Loveland Police Department, every interaction matters.
For many people, a traffic stop feels inconvenient. Sometimes, stressful. For others, including individuals with autism or other communication differences, it can quickly become overwhelming.
That’s why we’re excited to offer the Blue Envelope Program.
This simple program helps drivers keep important documents together while discreetly letting an officer know they may benefit from a little extra time, clear instructions, or a different communication approach. Better communication reduces stress, creates greater understanding, and supports safer interactions for everyone involved.
We know many families in our community include someone with unique communication needs. This program offers one more way to build trust and strengthen the partnership between our officers and the people we serve.
If you or someone you know could benefit from the Blue Envelope Program, stop by the Loveland Police Department Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or ask any Loveland police officer for one during a non-emergency contact.
Sometimes, the smallest resources make the biggest difference.

Cooking with a Cop🍅 🧑🍳 👮
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Office Burriesci recently put on his apron, that of course has a badge on it, at Sedalia Elementary, joining students for a special "Cooking with a Cop" class!
Thanks to the school’s incredible sustainability program, they had fresh tomatoes and basil right in their garden to make grilled caprese sandwiches.
Together with the students, our deputies took orders from Deputy Burriesci, cleaning, chopping, marinating, and assembling some truly delicious results.
Grazie to Sedalia Elementary for having us and for reminding us that community, cooking, and connection make the perfect recipe! 💙

Justice. Kindness. Humility.
Three words. One commitment. Every day.
Behind the badge, beyond the uniform, and throughout our community, these values guide the work our officers do. From the moments everyone sees to the quiet acts of service few ever notice, the mission remains the same: serve with integrity, treat people with compassion, and lead with humility.
We don’t get every moment perfect, but we strive for excellence, showing up, doing the work, and hoping to make a difference.
Because public safety means more than enforcing the law. It means educating, earning trust, and building relationships.
It matters, Loveland. You deserve it.

🚔 SPD DRIVER TRAINING AT FLATROCK! 🏁
Putting some of our older patrol vehicles back to work today at Flatrock!
Sterling PD officers spent the day sharpening their driving skills through low-speed maneuvering courses and high-speed track exercises.
These training days give officers an opportunity to improve their vehicle handling, decision-making, and driving skills in a controlled environment.
And it’s always good to give the older fleet a little action! 🚓💨
Good day to train!
