She gave up her season to make a point.
Battle Ground High School sophomore Elise Bierer stepped to the starting line at Wednesday's district cross-country championship in Camas, Washington. When the gun went off, she turned around and walked away alone rather than race against a male athlete in the girls' race.
That ended her shot at regionals. Her mom met her with a hug as she broke down in tears.
Washington voters decide Initiative 638 on Nov. 3. It would require biological sex verification for girls' K-12 sports.
No teenage girl should have to choose between her dreams and fairness. Vote like your daughters depend on it.

I’m so grateful for the courage and compassion of Jordan’s @KingAbdullahII who is mobilizing his forces to fight terror and protect Jordanian Christians and immediately went to the hospital to visit the Christians who were wounded and traumatized in this diabolical attack.

A tornado in Clarksville, Tennessee, ripped the roof off Sydney Moore’s home and sucked her 4-month-old baby into the sky still inside his bassinet. But... GOD.
⠀
The father tried to grab the bassinet but the winds swept him up with the infant. Sydney threw herself over their 1-year-old son as the walls collapsed around them.
⠀
When the storm passed their mobile home was destroyed. Both parents and the older child survived, but the baby was missing. They searched the wreckage for about 10 minutes.
⠀
The father then found the infant lying alive in the hollow of a fallen tree roughly 25 feet away. The baby had only minor injuries, including a cut on his face that was later glued.
⠀
The entire family survived with cuts and bruises. Sydney credited their escape to the grace of God. The tornado that struck the area was rated EF-3 with winds up to 150 mph.
⠀
Think about what it means when a 4-month-old is lifted out of a collapsing home inside his bassinet and found alive in a tree minutes later while the rest of the family also walks away.
But... GOD.

I don’t often write about myself, but today I shared something deeply personal: my experience fighting cancer while continuing to do a job I love.
Cancer tried to make my world smaller. I was determined not to let it.
I am incredibly grateful to be cancer-free, and even more grateful for President Trump, my family, friends, colleagues, medical team and faith that carried me through the hardest days.
I hope sharing my story might offer some strength to even one person still in the fight.

Almost 2,300 female athletes have lost gold medals to biological males, according to new research by @CWforA.
In professional sports, this has translated to women losing $501,498 in prize money.
“It is shockingly unfair for biological women to have to compete against trans-identifying men,” says @PYNance.

25 years after September 11, the pain still exists. My husband and I stayed until one in the morning with his pregnant employee, whose husband was missing and was later confirmed dead in the Pentagon. The United States was both traumatized and
more unified than ever before in my lifetime. To hear from fools making excuses for Islamo-fascist, and pure evil is disgusting! Shut your mouth @hasanthehun Hasan Piker. America did not deserve 9/11.

No one has the “right” to watch child porn.
A federal appeals court judge ruled that the First Amendment protects an individual’s right to privately possess images or videos of child sexual abuse created using AI — if the material does not depict a real person and remains in the home. wapo.st/4hXljRs
