Hitler framed Poland as “living space” and food supply. Berlin and Moscow carved Polish oil fields; Ploiești and the Caucasus were next on the map. Own the fuel, own the war. Poland never formally surrendered. Now: Chancellor Friedrich Merz has pledged Germany the “strongest conventional army in Europe,” with defense spending set to climb from about €108 billion toward €152 billion by 2029. Nord Stream remains out of service — Washington and Moscow have both floated restoring it — while Hormuz risk keeps energy markets jumpy. Berlin’s crude still leans on the Baltic hub at Gdańsk. U.S. LNG lands at German terminals, not Gdańsk. Druzhba deliveries into Germany are shut; Yamal gas has been reversed. There is no quiet “restart” pipe waiting in the wings. Online claims of “granaty, amunicję” (@AgentSmutnooka) and “LIVE AMMO + STUN GRENADES” (@kewler79) circulated as a leaked KGP order surfaced describing SMGs and non-penetrating shotgun rounds. Polish police framed the posture as a sabotage threat — not an admission that live grenades were issued for protesters. German police presence inside Poland is verified on video: German-marked vans on the S8 near Łódź / Hotel Górski in Proszenie.
