Exactly right. Several of the Founders wrote that the right to keep and bear arms was there partially to protect against "usurpers."
Aged like fine wine. Turns out, Dave wasn't being sarcastic here, he was just telling us the actual truth and none of us recognized it for what it was, coming as it did from the Court Jester. Well who's laughing now?
I guess Hoppe must be a secret Jew hater who just had to grit his teeth and make his entire life’s work carrying on the legacy of Mises and Rothbard. He’s also a secret Holocaust denier but won’t say it publicly due to his aversion to taking controversial opinions.

Really, when you think about it, EVERYTHING is France's fault since the French, ya know, helped the Americans win independence. Since America wouldn't exist without the French, it turns out.....the French are the TRUE Great Satan.

Rothbard blamed Britain for getting us into WWI & WWII, then blamed Israel for getting us into wars in the Middle East after the Israeli War of Independence. He literally said that in every war of the 20th century America and Britain were in the wrong, or more wrong, than any of our enemies. He blamed Israel for the Six Day War. And, of course, he blamed us for the Cold War, too. Rothbard blamed us (America & Britain) for WWI, WWII, the Cold War, the Korean War, Vietnam War, the Falklands War, the IRA's campaign against the UK, etc. Of course, Germany started WWI, WWII (with Japan), Stalin started the Cold War, the Communists (North Korea, Soviets, & Red China) started the Korean War & the Vietnam War (North Vietnam instead of North Korea), Argentina started the Falklands War, the IRA (with Soviet backing) started the Troubles, etc. He blamed Britain for Germany's invasion of Poland, and even blamed Finland for its invasion by the Soviets. Rothbard made DARVO (Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender) his only method of foreign policy analysis. He had a perfect record of claiming the exact opposite of the truth in these matters. There isn't a totalitarian regime whose propaganda he wasn't willing to parrot approvingly on this, whether it be Hitler's, Stalin's, Kim Il-Sung's, Ho Chi Minh's, Nasser's, the Junta's, etc. I've never seen any Rothbardian make the argument you cite about American economic might making us secure enough to withdraw from the rest of the world. Instead, his followers adhere with absolute loyalty to his demented foreign policy positions.

Last sentence nails it. Rothbard's history was most often driven by ideology rather than empirical evidence. This is most evident in his handling of WW2 but also taints his views on Lincoln & the Civil War.

It is funny how Mussolini was like the most normal, least unhinged leader of the Axis Powers. Maybe second to Hirohito depending on how much power you believe Hirohito really had.

So.....what they said about Enoch Powell being gay was true? Presumably if it wasn't you'd lead with that.

"So-called Holocaust" When people tell you who they are, believe them.
Dr. Hans-Hermann Hoppe criticizes any comparison between Gaza and the Holocaust, citing the lack of forensic evidence and the nature of the Nuremberg trials in contrast to the videos of Israeli criminality. “Nothing like this happened in WWI. Nothing like this happened in WWII.”

"The Great Satan"
The worst thing about American interventionism is knowing that if the US hadn’t intervened, nobody else would. The world would’ve remained peaceful & stable. The Ottomans, Russia, China, Iran, the Islamic empires, Imperial Japan, Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany were deeply committed to minding their own fucking business.

We've periodically reminded Marxist-Leninist tankies that Holodomor-denying commies are morally equivalent to Holocaust deniers, and should be treated the same by society. The reverse is also true.

Ben, don't know if you'll see this, but the guy unironically believes actual Nazi propaganda from World War 2. I think it's fair to speculate what might be motivating his sympathy for Hoppe on this one.

Joseph Goebbels was an outright economic Marxist who deviously cloaked his Marxism with Germanic ethnocentrism. He called for a "class struggle" and said "once we have taken over the state, Germany will become a state of labor, a workers’ state." He yearned for a "labor state" (no different than the one in Soviet Russia) and linked his anti-Semitism to his anti-capitalism, saying the two "go together": "As socialists we are opponents of the Jews because we see in the Hebrews the incarnation of capitalism, of the misuse of the nation’s goods." He wanted to alleviate Jews of their capital so that he could socialize it and use it for German state projects. But he was also against non-Jewish capitalists so the "Jewish" thing was a foil for his generic hostility to business owners and "capital" like any Marxist. Since his anti-Jewish stance was schizophrenic and shapeshifting, he also attacked them on the grounds that they led Marxism even though he was a closeted Marxist who echoed Marxist rhetoric about capitalism. In his 1939 screed against England, he framed the war with England as a war between capitalism (England) and socialism (Germany): "England is a capitalist democracy. Germany is a socialist people’s state. And it is not the case that we think England is the richest land on earth. There are lords and City men in England who are in fact the richest men on earth. The broad masses, however, see little of this wealth." He gave away the game in a 1925 speech in a beer hall, in which he declared Lenin the "greatest man" next to Hitler and argued there were only "slight differences" between Communism and Hitlerism.

I think you can tell Hartman likes him because he gave him a cool nick-name. Private Joker. Compared to "Snowball" and "Gomer Pyle" that's a great nick-name.

I’ll take a shot at answering one of these good questions. These poor young people are not dying for "no reason". They’re dying because Vladimir Putin's Russia invaded Ukraine and Ukrainians don’t want to be murdered. I hope this helps.
