I'm sad the season is over but it's nice to have Schnee back home. He got to go to his 2 yr old nephew's birthday party over the weekend. The Filipino side of our family was excited to meet him. They never miss a Guards game.
No excuses... No blaming the refs... "We just gotta get better." Gotta love Kalani Sitake. BYU still has a shot at this thing. Don't count us out. Go Cougs!
Another profound post from Always the Jake. And, so true! It's the greatest game in the world. For all of us... Guards fans, Padre fans, coaches, managers, players or player's families... Learning to deal with the ups & downs of this game can be tough. But, its worth it because it brings people together. It makes us better people!
Don't know what the future holds for Schnee... But regardless, it's been an honor getting to know so many of you. Thanks for welcoming us into your Guard's family.

It was a sad day in San Diego when Tony Gwynn passed. He was our "Jose Ramirez". Could've easily played somewhere else... but some things are more important than money. Classy move from these Philadelphia fans. They may have boo'd Santa, but they rose to thier feet to pay their respects when Tony Gwynn Jr. came to bat.
"Chalk-Talk Mikey" is 5-0 in his Fantasy Football League & the Guards are up 1-0 in the ALCS!

This was one of my favorite moments of the season... Not just because of Daniel's homerun. But, because of his interaction with Jose after hitting it. It came at a time when Josey wasn't hitting like his "Josey Self". And yet... he never seemed panicked or stressed and no matter what, he always took time to build up his teammates. He's such a great leader!
It got me thinking... One day, maybe 10 - 15 yrs from now, the Schneemann family will take a trip to Cooperstown. It'll probably be for some baseball or softball tournament that one of our grandkids will be playing in. Daniel might even be one of the coaches by then. We'll all visit the Hall of Fame and when we pass by the bust of Jose Ramirez, our grandkids will get to hear a few clubhouse stories from their dad/uncle about what it was like to play with this 5 foot 8 inch GIANT of baseball player... What he was like as a teammate & a leader.
I'm sure Daniel will still be really humble, so before leaving the Hall, I'll make sure we also pass by the busts of Verlander & Scherzer & I'll let the grandkids know thier Dad/Uncle homered off both those dudes. Yeah, that will be a great day...
But, that's in the future. Tomorrow its on to the ALCS. And Josey is back to his "Josey Self". Its a bad day to be a Ray!

Thx Brian! I texted Daniel and told him pretty much the same thing. So proud of these boys... I mean men. I knew they could do it! And I honestly believed they would! What a team!
