d thing just be like curse for dis country
U criticise Ur govt for not doing well
And boom
d same people suffering will come out with d narratives dat
U are demarketing d
Country.
With d way things dey go
He go worse o
With dis kind of mentality
When people say Nigeria is poor & corruption is not our major issue they don't consider these obvious opportunity cost! For some people to siphon project funds, entire market is gone nothing came out of it, yet budget was spent
Millions of $ gone+ destruction instead of growth
In Fayemi's second tenure, there was a World Bank water project of $55m.
They dug every part of Ekiti to install big pipes, the day they reached my apartment, myself and my landlord wondered what was going on. They did that, Ekiti Water House was built, the water has still not dropped.
In 2024, Ekiti secured $80m from AFDB for Ekiti Knowledge Zone, 2024, this is November 2026, VP just came for the groundbreaking event in June 2026, and it's been some serious quiet.
I'm just musing.
I'd like to see a manifest of Agricultural Produce leaving that Ekiti Agro-allied airport.
Just one.

You are entitled to your opinion, and I respect that. However, I believe we must be balanced in how we assess Ekiti's development.
Our state has an agro-allied airport, two federal universities, a federal polytechnic, a federal teaching hospital, state and private universities, and specialised schools. We also have enormous agricultural potential, tourism attractions such as Ikogosi Warm Springs and Arinta Waterfalls, and ongoing infrastructure projects.
Ekiti continues to make progress, with growing opportunities in education, agriculture, infrastructure and tourism. Like every developing state, there is always room to do more.
We should not criticise so much that we become blind to progress, nor celebrate so much that we overlook opportunities for improvement.
During my recent visit, I participated in the Ekiti at 30 Future Summit, engaged with young people and offered mentorship to the three winners of the Youth Essay Competition. Through Scholarships Cafe and the Muyiwa Igbalajobi Foundation, I continue to contribute to education, scholarship access, and youth development.
The next time you visit Ekiti, I encourage you to visit the university at Iyin-Ekiti and some of these development projects. More importantly, ask yourself: In what ways have you contributed to the development of Ekiti? Or is development solely the responsibility of the government?
I do not claim that Ekiti has arrived, but I believe its progress deserves recognition. Loving Ekiti means acknowledging achievements, sharing honest perspectives, and contributing to solutions.
Let us move beyond criticism to constructive engagement and meaningful contributions to the development of our state.

Politics, tribe/ethnicity, passion(sports, music, et al), and religion are the things that rile a lot of people up and make them lose logic, engaging people in these contexts, one has to be careful because a lot of people are not as collected as they might assume they are.

Doc, there's critique and there's running it down. I think what is being done is critiquing the system to see where we can do better.
Beyond the photo ops and all of the Governor, the quality of life of an average Ekiti resident isnt better or improving. If you have his ears, let him know.
90%+ IGR collection rate isn't something to celebrate about. To me, it's basically a base effect. We have a lesser population to tax and collect from compared to other states in the same tier as us.
We must turn the tide; and I think the Governor has goodwill and the people like him. He should use it for their emancipation. Governance is beyond prostrating every now and then; that has earned him a second term. – at Oshogbo, Nigeria
Some of you are even indigenes of Ekiti but have barely set foot in the state since birth, yet you are always eager to jump at every opportunity to run it down. You cannot genuinely wish for the progress of a place you constantly seek to ridicule.
It is perfectly fine to criticise, demand accountability and point out areas that need improvement. But let us be guided by facts, fairness and a genuine desire to see Ekiti move forward. We can disagree with those in government without being unfair to the state and its people.

Ok, but that's not how people on bere are portraying it.
They're making it look like Ekiti is the worst thing that can happen to anyone.
It's always the horrible parts of Ekiti making it to the media.

I've been following that Ekiti Knowledge Zone since Fayemi left office, it's all white elephant project with big grammar, nothing meaningful on ground till date.
In Fayemi's second tenure, there was a World Bank water project of $55m.
