More than 1,100 people who didn't kill or intend to kill are serving life in Pa. prisons for felony murder. A case now before the state Supreme Court could end that. Collab with @MirandaJeya for @PublicSourcePA penncapital-star.com/justice…

I reached out to Pace-O-Matic earlier this week about their next steps on skill games. In addition to lamenting the lost revenue for businesses and clubs, spokesman Mike Barley said:
"In the meantime, we will be watching to see if the PSP begins enforcement over all illegal gambling, including the activities in the mega gambling halls like Dave & Busters and Chuck E Cheese or the esports arenas at the local universities."
Now I don't feel so bad about making our intern do this story this summer: penncapital-star.com/governm…
The countdown clock for skill games in Pennsylvania keeps ticking follow the state Supreme Court's decision to deny a request to delay enforcement of its finding that they're illegal gambling devices.

Aaron Bernstine should resign from the House. Pennsylvania is better and bigger than this.
Deeply grateful to the PA Building Trades leaders who stood up in real time, and for every single one of you who has since. We deserve better and we have to demand It.
On Thursday, a Philadelphia woman told the Capital-Star she received what she considers an “incredibly transphobic” reply to an email seeking Bernstine’s support for a piece of legislation seeking paid family leave for Pennsylvania workers.

In honor of legendary journalist John Baer, the Pennsylvania Legislative Correspondents Association has renamed its summer journalism internship program.
It's now the John Baer Legislative Reporting Internship, where student journalists get to work for 12 weeks every summer in the Capitol alongside the professional reporting corps that covers it daily.
It's a paid internship, supported by donations and volunteerism.
You can support future interns in honor of John, who spent many years helping to fundraise for the program one former intern called "an experience you can brag about, and I certainly have."
Here is where you can donate:

Pa. House State Govt committee passed a bill 26-0 banning gifts to state lawmakers. (This is a big deal because the state’s current campaign finance rules have minimal restrictions and this is something lawmakers have been talking about for a long time with no progress.)
Could @FOXSports and @AppleTV get some people who know how to do audio for a baseball game? We don’t need to hear every bit of nonsense going on in the stands.
I haven't seen Hbg people stunt on a social post this much since the Commonwealth Foundation unwittlingly revealed no one at the Commonwealth Foundation has ever played Bingo.
Pennsylvania can respond to legitimate concerns about data center development without turning its back on the digital economy.
Disagree? We invite you to take the No Technology Pledge.
If you don’t want data centers, stop using what they power.
