"Democrats for Mike Rogers" turning out to be a completely astroturfed Republican operation that the media fell for is the most obvious development of the midterms so far.
Saw that coming a mile away.

This is what Russia's Proton plant in Oryol looked like from the inside before today's strike. Russian media had proudly showcased the facility and its production. The regional governor now calls it a "civilian facility," despite Proton being part of Russia's military-industrial complex and producing electronic components used in Russian weapon systems deployed against Ukraine. #Russia

He stopped a school shooting. But Kaylub Giamanco can't stop thinking about the children he couldn't save.
"I want to apologize for not saving their babies," he told @OPB. A gripping interview about courage, trauma and the weight of being called a hero.

Many of these Ukrainian guys who returned home from Russian captivity in today's latest prisoner exchange had been held in enemy dungeons since 2022. Marines who defended Mariupol back then... it feels like an entire era of the world ago.
Among them are five guys who had previously been believed killed in the mass murder of Ukrainian POWs at the Russian concentration camp in Olenivka.
I am so incredibly proud of our people. The greatest and most heroic nation in the world today.

The questions the Vanity Fair journalist Matthew Cole asked Kushner's lawyer reveal that this scandal is huge, much bigger than today's article covers.
Matthew Cole has sure done his homework, and I can confirm some of it by following the Trump campaign and administration over the years. Now Kushner is trying to pretend he kept his head in the sand and knew nothing.

The point of the post-World War II global order was to freeze borders and avoid wars of conquest. But Putin won’t accept the 1991 Russian borders he agreed were valid many times, because he needs war to survive. As for historical lands, Russia's should go back a bit further…

Trump has no role in local voting. Shouldn’t he and his goons all be charged if they violate state law by interfering in the vote count? Presume Trump’s prosecution should be stayed but the others could proceed. @marceelias

I consider myself a patriot. But I'm not a flag-waver. I feel that - in our current tribal environment - the concept of patriotism has been badly coopted. It's just a punchline for many.
Speaking for myself, America has never been about geography or sameness or wealth or military strength as much as it's been about being a force for global good and following a constitution and rule of law to the betterment of all. For 240 years, we did it to a good extent.
We can debate the economic and policy issues of the day, but I really don't see any way for anyone to stand back, look clearly, and conclude that the Trump years haven't put real distance between America and the rule of law, constitution, and being a force for good. They've done it with selfishness, divisiveness, and falsity.
I am hoping that - consciously or not - voters in the Center and Center Right not only feel this, but see it, with clarity.
We have to make a HUGE shift in 2028, one that will require serious accountability. But to do that, we HAVE to stop some of the bleeding NOW, in 2026.
We have to put the flags down, look within, then look without, and remember what America really is.
Dear @AGToddBlanche: When you pull your head out of trump’s ass, you may want to read the United States Constitution. You did not take an oath to trump. You took an oath to the Constitution.
November is coming.
