ALT In a glass case there’s a small gold sculpture of a humanoid reclining figure — it almost looks liquid, like suspended droplets and drools of molten gold. It is ‘Reclining Figure’ by Henry Moore. Behind it is a dark surrealist painting by Max Ernst.

ALT A smiling woman in a stripy dress with short black hair is sat in the centre of a white-walled art gallery. She is flanked by two small shaggy white dogs. It is a black and white photograph by Lee Miller called ‘Peggy Guggenheim with her dogs, Venice Biennale, Italy’ 1948.

ALT Peggy Guggenheim, a glamorous middle-aged woman in a white sundress, basks in a deckchair on the terrace of her palazzo. She is right in the waterside; in the distance there’s what looks like a gondola. This black and white photograph is from the early 1950s.

ALT Ellora, in a black and white stripy sundress, tried to imitate Peggy Guggenheim on a deckchair in front of a screen image of Venice. She lacks Peggy’s effortless glamour.
