With conflict worsening in Port-au-Prince this year, it's really astounding to speak to these young people working for peace in their community of Citie Soliel, supported by @Concern. They're tired and often traumatized but determined to work for a better future. Humbling stuff

Replying to @ianoriordan @soniaagrith
Surprised to hear you, and Sonia for that matter, come out with such a dogmatic stance on this, Ian. Its a tough one but no athlete is 'entitled' to a medal, particularly if it is based on exclusion and the denial of someone else's rights and identity.

Disgraceful, greedy, and slippery property developers.

I am trying to ensure that the #Chivers site in Coolock is not flipped for a massive profit by property developers Platinum Land Ltd who lied to myself & other local councillors in order to get the site rezoned from industrial to residential. @IrishTimes irishtimes.com/news/ireland/…

Plans to sell rezoned Dublin jam factory site for €25m leave sour taste

Councillors say they were ‘fooled’ into rezoning with ‘sugared’ promises of housing

…while raising money is important, we do not understand the complexity of situations as we view it from a privileged position, we must empower people to help themselves. Listen to Mary Robinson! She is the most knowledgeable guest on the show. #latelate #LateLateShow

"Ireland’s GDP is 50 times that of Afghanistan’s and we’re in the middle of one of the most serious humanitarian disasters of our time – and we’re worried about what exactly?" Spot on Graham. Ambition and urgency needed and not just for the Irish nationals in Afghanistan
