Just a shout out to all of @newsmark Mark Blanchard’s friends and colleagues who continue to post and share random stories and keep in touch. These are the greatest gifts. ❤️
Reading this reminded me of @newsmark’s role in the broadcast pool to cover the repatriation of Canadian solders returning from Afghanistan. Only after Mark died did we (his family) learn how instrumental he was in creating what came to be known as The Highway of Heroes. 🇨🇦

"We feel very badly BUT"....
There should never be a "but" when discussing deaths at the hands of his ego.

Nova Scotia is an economic powerhouse, fueled by the entrepreneurial spirit of workers, innovators, and business owners across the province.
Thanks to the @halifaxchamber for hosting a conversation about our plan to build a stronger economy — one that creates more certainty and opportunities for Nova Scotians and all Canadians.

Did not expect @FBIDirectorKash getting screeched-in to be a part of his hacked email leaks. FBI-s the b’y?
2/2 congratulate her and she was lovely, gracious, and kind. She was generous in sharing some memories of working with Mark and I will always remember how that made me feel. My sincere condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues.
Saddened by @bdthomson‘s passing today. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the 2024 RTDNA Canada awards. She was one of 3 recipients of the National Lifetime Achievement awards, along with Susan Marjetti and my late husband @newsmark. I introduced myself to 1/2

It's fascinating watching the guy who insists that his country needs nothing from Canada throwing toddler tantrums each time he realizes just how much his country needs from Canada.

I imagine Vance / Trump are reveling tonight thinking that they showed up Zelensky. But what the U.S. saw was the two of them shitting themselves — and all over our reputation — on the global stage. Putin must be thinking “Heckuva job Donnie!”

Here is Europe. We have happily paid three times as much to Ukraine as the USA. We are not asking for anything in return and we are not extorting the Ukrainians while they are fighting for their lives. Because we are not assholes.

This is really what it’s all about. Nothing to do with “border security.” He is a ignorant, vengeful, demented, megalomaniacal narcissist.

Global News has learned Canada is expected to follow through with retaliatory tariffs in the wake of President Trump’s tariffs. Something Canadian officials had previously indicated. Details are still to come on what exactly that looks like.

I hope Canadians don't see this as an ephemeral crisis: something to manage just for the next four years. We made that mistake last time. Trumpism could outlast Trump, which means Canada needs to get serious about defence, trade, growth. There can be no going back to normal
