has anyone noticed how darcy’s first confession happens in the middle of a storm, with two people so consumed by their own perceptions that they cannot truly hear one another? while in the final scene, after so much emotional blindness, elizabeth and darcy are finally able to see one another. thank you, joe wright, for not giving them a sunset, but a dawn that represents the beginning of something they are finally ready to see clearly: each other, and perhaps themselves.
