Sentar cátedra sobre planetas, cuando hay trillones, probablemente más, con una diversidad casi inimaginable, es muy pretencioso. Aún nos queda mucho por aprender. Sobra cierta arrogancia y falta mucha humildad. Por eso es tan importante el @PlanetaryHabLab

Here are @PlanetaryHabLab estimates of the mean global surface temperatures of the planets around TRAPPIST-1 for thin to thick atmospheres (<10 bars). TRAPPIST-1 b, measured ~500 K, is within our predictions. 😀

Only 21 out of 5000 confirmed planets might be potentially habitable, i.e, Earth-sized orbiting within the habitable zone of their star. Up to 59 if you want to be more optimistic. Link in planets takes you to the @NExScI_IPAC catalog. phl.upr.edu/projects/habitab… @NASAExoplanets

Submit an abstract to our #AbSciCon2022 session on the development and application of habitability models for Earth, the Solar System, and exoplanets. Deadline next Wednesday January 19. agu.confex.com/agu/abscicon2…
The Habitable Exoplanets Catalog (HEC) is a database of potentially habitable worlds discovered by ground and space telescopes in the last decade. Exoplanet data comes from the @NASAExoArchive. phl.upr.edu/projects/habitab… @PlanetaryHabLab @NASAAstrobio #exoplanets #astrobiology

Our #AbSciCon2022 session is open for presentations about habitability models applied to the diversity of environments on Earth, the Solar System, and exoplanets. agu.confex.com/agu/abscicon2… #PlanetHabCollaboration @PlanetTreky @PlanetaryRocks
Our @PlanetaryHabLab is working on one of #Astro2020 proposed needs: "Interdisciplinary theory on a comprehensive multifactorial framework for habitability assessment" (Table E.1) that is necessary to characterize habitable worlds. phl.upr.edu/planethab
