Here is an update on Machakos County. In three years, 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025, the county spent KSH 37 billion. This is a lot of money, for 1.5 million people. But you cannot tell that. Why? Well, the county that employs 8,000 people, or 0.7% of that population, has spent 53% of every single shilling on salaries for this 0.7% of the population. 0.7% taking 53% of the budget. In salaries alone. The legal limit is 35%. This discrepancy (53% minus 35%) resulted in KSH 6.63 billion in your cash being sent to this 0.7% of the population. Illegally. In salaries alone. If you had a Governor and MCAs who care about serving citizens, that KSH 6.63 billion in just three years would have gone to build hospitals, build roads, provide healthcare, and ensure that young citizens have a place to go to in the morning. This is a total shame. The same county has wasted about KSH 2 billion on 100% wasteful travel in 3 years. KSH 2 billion! On 100% wasteful travel. Look at the attached records, and ask yourself what KSH 2 billion could have done in Machakos, to serve citizens. This madness, must stop, @Wavinya_Ndeti This is insanity. It is madness. Project planning in Singapore? Utamaduni celebrations in Dallas? No shame, at all? Kenyans - focus! Please focus. KSH 6.63 billion in illegal salaries, in three years. That is why young people are jobless. It is why the county is stuck. Take a look at the last few attachments. The county is sitting on KSH 1.1 billion in stalled projects. Now - look at the reasons she gives for this: You might want to sit down for this one. "The contractor left the site". "Non-payment". So - the people you elected to work for you, are spending KSH 2 billion abroad. They steal KSH 6.63 billion from you in three years. And then - when bills come due, they are not on the ground to pay. So - contractors abandon site. On top of all that: KSH 16 billion in assets could not be confirmed. Touched, or seen. KSH 5.54 billion in pending bills - despite KSH 2 billion wasted on wasteful travel. KSH 1.9 billion in claimed cash unconfirmed, with HUNDREDS OF BANK ACCOUNTS, UNDISCOLOSED.
