"Gather round, weary travellers and curious cubs. Let me tell you a story from the days of old, long after man left this mortal coil, bestowing the world unto the beasts; when civilizations rose and fell, to the beating of sandaled feet; of high adventure!" *strums an Em 11*

The Ballad of Bookworm Bill was about a British researcher teaming with a Paiute boy to rescue his family from chupacabras.

I don't use AI. I just find its usage in turning something blasphemous and scornful into something Sacred to be a massive improvement, taking a work of art's vile and shallow message and making it holy again.

There's a faction within Reform whose rhetoric is indistinguishable from sabotage.
Repeating the mantra "Vote Restore, get Labour" over and over, like a leftist protestor, doesn't provide a value proposition that changes the minds of Restore voters.
Like Matt in 2024, they're going long on the odds of a fledgling party because they think it's credible. It's not a "lesser of two evils" calculation, so they won't be pressured out of it by that narrative. They'll just resent you for your zero-sum entitlement to their vote.
It's also not a credible attack line when Reform could only top the polls by ensuring Labour won the 2024 election, and when Matt here is responsible for a Green MP getting elected because his campaign failed to impress voters in Denton.
Every vote you fail to win is your fault. Internalise that narrative. Wonder why you lost these people in the first place, and why Reform continue to lose people, rather than blaming the voters or rival parties that *you* created.

How is it that the two most spineless and conniving characters in the entire series have actors with more integrity and dignity than the entire leading cast of heroes
Truly remarkable
Jason Isaacs completely refused to join the public "pile-on" against J.K. Rowling, arguing that real life is far too complicated for instant internet cancellations
Jason Isaacs thinks his former acting colleagues are doing exactly that: stabbing J.K. Rowling in the back. Kicking her while sheโs down, turning on her now that itโs become โfashionable,โ and speaking badly of her. He doesnโt necessarily even agree with her controversial views. But as a matter of principle, he wonโt throw her under a bus.
โThereโs a lot to say about Jo,โ Isaacs told the Telegraph when asked about Rowling, using her first name (Joanne). โYou know, I play complicated people, and Iโm drawn to complicated people. I donโt want to get pulled into the trans issue and talk about it, because itโs such an extraordinary minefield.โ
He went on to mention some of Rowlingโs good works.
"She has her view, and I have mine," Isaacs continued.
"They differ on many levels. But one thing people should also know about her, and I'm not saying it as a counter-argument, is that through her charity Lumos she has given a huge part of her fortune to making the world better for hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children.
And that is unquestionably a good thing. Many of us Harry Potter actors have worked with it and seen the work she does up close."
What Isaacs did is truly admirable: he refused to hand the press yet another juicy story about a former franchise actor publicly discrediting J.K. Rowling. Instead, he did something rare in today's bloodthirsty clickbait world. He pointed out the good in a person, accepted that they disagree, and moved on. Nicely done!

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we werenโt in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. โBut Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to riskโgetting lost in Hollywood for years and years?โ. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in Londonโs West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.
