Another buoy deployed in Lake Erie for the @NSERC_CRSNG alliance water security project. It’s equipped with a @ProOceanus CO2 sensor and an @rbr_global multi-parameter water quality sonde. To help combat biofouling, we wrapped the CO2 sensor in copper tape!

Did you know algae can be found in snow?
A team of #NSFfunded researchers discovered that snow in the Pacific Northwest, when playing host to algal blooms, has its reflectivity reduced, leading to a 20% increase in snowmelt.
