I get these notices often in the mail and hardly pay attention but this one! The WGA health plan now covers travel expenses for gender-affirming care. ❤️⚕️🏳️⚧️

Love that future staff writers will be financially compensated for their episodes. Lots of newer, bigger things in the contract…but this is a biggie. #WGA – at Los Angeles, CA

Speaking as feature writers who have been in this for 25 years, who remember what it was like THEN and NOW, this deal is great for feature writers, esp newer ones. Guaranteed second step, accelerated payment, increased residuals... these are huge wins that will sustain careers.

To our members: The WGA and AMPTP met for bargaining on Friday and will meet again on Saturday.
Thank you for the wonderful show of support on the picket lines today! It means so much to us as we continue to work toward a deal that writers deserve. #WGAStrike

WGAW strike captain Shelley Meals: "The streamers came into the industry with a very different mindset, right? These aren't studios. No Walt and Roy. These are tech bros. They came in with 'how can we do more for less.'" #WGAstrike 1/3

Bill Maher complaining about writers wanting special treatment is a great opportunity to remind everyone about the time I went to Maroon 5’s Halloween party and Maher was screaming at the bouncer because they didn’t have a special line for celebrities.
Also they did have one.

The NYT did a puff piece on the lead negotiator for the studios & companies this morning. I didn’t learn much, though they did confirm she has a bizarre idea of what negotiating means. We’re fighting for the existence of our careers. She wants us to “soften our stance” on that?

They’ll literally do everything except pay the writers and actors. 🤦🏽♀️
The AMPTP has decided to pay a new crisis management firm to help repair its image instead of paying writers and actors what they rightfully deserve.

Maybe this will help some understand the strike. Many people have known or seen me on many shows/films thru the years. Yet 1 yr, recently, I didn’t meet my health insurance minimum! Would never imagine that I didn’t meet the minimum of 30k, right? Wrong. We r NOT all millionaires

Meet Carol and Graham, a mother and son from Vermont, who ventured to Paramount Pictures today to take part in the studio’s guided tour of the grounds.
That is, until they saw picketers gathered outside the front gate.
With tour guides ready to take them inside, the duo refused to cross the picket line, instead joining demonstrators as part of the ongoing #ActorsStrike + #WritersStrike
