Aerosolized budesonide and clarithromycin don’t treat measles (it’s a virus- it doesn’t respond to antibiotics). For the head of HHS to be messaging this in the middle of an outbreak that has killed two children is… despicable.

Crashing the other guy’s press conference is about as WWE you can get, short of showing up with a steel folding chair.
Education Secretary @Linda_McMahon just made a surprise appearance at a Democratic presser outside the agency after meeting with members.

A colleague asked to grab coffee, and I gave them some stipulations about how we might make that a covid-safer activity and they were so kind and responsive to my recommendations. Just sharing to say it is possible! 1/3

It’s hard for many people to see the importance of what CDC does because when it succeeds, there isn’t an outbreak. Your neighbor doesn’t overdose. Your cousin stops smoking or your child doesn’t start. Your grandmother doesn’t develop cancer. Cuts to this work would put us all at greater risk.

This is not true. U.S. students today test considerably better than they did 50 years ago, *even factoring in* the big post-2020 dip caused by the pandemic depriving many kids of a whole in-person school year. nces.ed.gov/fastfacts/displa…

Funny how kids use to go to school in 100⁰ with no air conditioning and performed way way better than today. Of course, this was before the DOE.

Really doesn’t take a detective to uncover that Republicans are enacting Project 2025 – just last night they began the process of dismantling the Department of Education. Everything points to them trying to misuse the Comstock Act to ban abortion nationwide, even in states where it’s legal. Today, I’m re-introducing a bill to stop them.
This is what Heritage thinks a GOP president should do, as laid out in Project 2025: reviving the nineteenth-century Comstock Act as a federal ban.

I'm confused about the 'Canada as 51st state' thing because, if they succeeded, they'd be adding 40million new citizens who overwhelmingly hate Trump and hate MAGA, flipping the House and Senate. Right?

Let’s be clear: the Dept. of Ed. provides resources to 26 million children living in high-poverty school districts; Pell Grants to over 7 million students; & funding for millions of children with disabilities. Closing its doors would be a disaster for working class families.

Putting aside the broader political context, this is such a boneheaded strategic blunder by @Harvard. If you are sitting on a pile of cash at a time when your entire industry is facing a downturn - that is the time to POUNCE NOT RETRENCH. Harvard could be out there hiring the best faculty and staff candidates that their competitors can no longer afford and cement their advantage for decades to come. But I guess it shouldn't surprise me that they're taking the strategically timid path, since it's exactly what I've seen so many of their business school trainees impose on tech and biotech companies in the Bay Area.
Harvard President Alan M. Garber ’76 announced a University-wide staff and faculty hiring freeze in a message to Harvard affiliates Monday morning, citing uncertainty under the Trump administration. @dhruvtkpatel and @graceunkyoon report. thecrimson.com/article/2025/…
