Lost for words, just saw someone comparing their favorite prop to pump fun in a positive light.
Nope... too much internet for today.
On the A-book stuff there is a something that people are missing. I think Gandalf might have eluded to it but im tired and cant go digging it up.
You can a-book prop traders, but the prop firm itself lives on net PL of the entire Abook, not the trader individually. So you could have 100k payouts and 20k PL on the abook, with a shortfall of 80k (eval fees/other revenue you might have make up the difference).
With the massive churn, without a pass rate figure its hard to quantify it, but if some of the churn figures are real, your net PL on a-book would be negative depending on the pass rate. For the instant account, there is no risk, you can a-book them and fees = revenue.
What bothered me the most about this time line and I did promise others I wouldn't speak more about it but just this once I will due to your great video - You cannot make a market and be a-book at the same time, you are basically just sending orders to a bucket somewhere else. For me that was a massive trigger, it felt a bit offensive to my soul but I gave up talking about it because some special cryptobros tried to bro science me.
For all associated with Vest, you might want to double check their founder’s claims:

Another question. Where does the DD upgrade go? Is it the intern dd or the partner DD? Its the partner DD you are upgrading and can upgrade to 100% utilizing the points system.
Someone asked about accelerated. Accelerated the max DD and weekend hold are the only rules. The rest you do whatever you like. Gap risk applies unfortunately there - again working on that as well. But conditionlessly take rewards when you want, scale account size from points and just enjoy.
Regarding weekend holding.
We have a solution, but not for XAU, US30 and US100 US500.
Some of you who provided early feedback, I want your feedback on this. Weekend hold allowed excluding those 4 symbols Y/N?
A reminder of the reason behind the rule. If 500 traders have 1 lot long XAU, the company collectively (this is prop after all) has 500 lots of long risk on XAU.
If the market gaps down $150 friday to sunday, it will ignore your stops (you will lose way more than your stop loss) and exit on first available price which for 500 lots, isn't even the first tick.
If you calculate the dollar value of $150 gap against 500 lots, its self explanitory on the why.
(I think the total loss is around 4.5m? correct me if I am wrong). 500 Prop accounts with 4.5m risk (september was the last gap of that size).
Another option that could be made available but I don't think people will like it, is to have the position close on friday on a "swing account" type and reopen on sunday morning minus any fees so the gap (loss or win) is discounted but you are in your position still, we will take the hit on the fees to make sure the gap is only discounted but the Profit or loss from the gap wont be there. This would require some technical work on our end but is doable.
*THESE ARE NOT DECISIONS, JUST DISCUSSION FOR NOW TO FINALIZE OPTIONS*
A few folks seem to be a little confused about partner status.
The 2% doesn't follow you - its static. If you have an account and you make 5% on the first trade, you can risk that 5%, its yours to do w/e you want with it. There is no daily drawdown or trailing or floating margin rules or risk per trade rules or any of that stuff.
In partner status you decide what you want to do not us.
Too many years as a broker in my pocket - account flipping has never really been that common in a brokers database. Martingale yes, flipping no.
Its mostly a social media phenomenon. Usually attached to some other sale somewhere else.
Before prop firms people would load up multiple accounts with CFD brokers and just full port it all going for a massive flip
Eventually you’ll have one that’s successful
But no one showed the loss of multiple flips that was attempted
It’s really the same thing with props and payouts
This has always just been a thing in this space and tbh in any industry online
The Lanto subject:
Lanto is again, taking the blunt end of a stick for something that is a rampant feature in the influencer space around futures and now perps props. Oddly enough, its not that common in CFD's, could be because of the models, idk.
There are legal issues around this type of false marketing, perhaps not in the US, but definitely in other countries of which there are audience participants. People in the UK, UAE and Australia in particular should be very very careful on their messaging as these countries in particular have a higher liklihood of some sort of penalty for this behavior. Attaching false claims or misleading claims to course sales or discord memberships is also under scrutiny in those jurisdictions (amongst others).
Again, its not a Lanto problem specifically, its an industry problem. I feel that collectively it can be resolved, calling it out is a start.
Some folks have been asking me about other companies programs and that kind of thing.
Honestly, I have published my thoughts whilst doing my research on many different things here on X. What we have built is based on that, on my (and a few others) actual experiences when trading props etc.
I am glad when other companies are innovating - in the end the marketplace should never just be a bunch of companies with the exact same product, options and choices to fit an individuals requirements is very healthy. Prop trading was never meant to be an outlet store with 5 of the same shirt just in a different color. It was supposed to be a department store where you can go for the things you need and find other things you might like on the way.
My opinion - and its mine - is that prop lost its way during the race to the bottom of 2023-24 in CFDS, and futures has lost its way albeit the labs are showing attempts to innovate.
In the end its best if there are many different options for many different types of traders and the traders go where it fits them best. If payout security is your priority go to company A, if trading conditions are your priority go to B, if cheapest price is your priority go to C.
You don't go to a mall and expect to see the same shop over and over just with a different name on it.

This is one NOT to miss! 👀
Quote posting this, not because of paying more. But despite an initially hostile conversation, this gentleman gave me an idea that I might be able to implement for weekend holders. I will start working on it tonight and hopefully a week or so a mapped solution to make it available if a certain criteria is met can be possible.
I'm not keen on charging premiums for it, prefer achievable access to everyone.
Replying to @PropJoshD
Yes really would appreciate if this could be looked into or even and I speak for myself here would be willing to pay more to be allowed to hold over weekends on all symbols.
But please don’t leave us swing traders out of the equation.
For MFF 1 and 2 step - the challenge is the challenge.
After that:
- on demand any time payouts (swept end of day) but funds removed from account at request immediately.
- no gut kicking rules other than no weekend holding (this is gap risk aversion due to data processing/real trades)
- Your success matters, commission charged earns you points. These points can be used to scale your Drawdown as well as your account size (30% at a time) up to 1million.
- More success upgrades coming in the future (leverage increase is being explored now but the data suggests its a negative for traders).
- If you fail your funded (which we genuinely hope you don't) your points will be turned into discounts/free accounts depending on how many you have accumulated over time. So customers who have had a lot of success on funded but unfortunately lost the account may end up having a free retry depending on the situation of the account. The goal is to keep the profitable guys in the system so we continue collecting their data and producing profit from it.
Not going to go into the whole your success matters part, industry has tainted those words and the proof will be in the pudding in this case. If you have suggestions that are functionally better and statistically better to increase trader profitability I welcome them and would love to build them if they are practical.
Its different, and we understand that - but having no conflict with the traders is extremely important. Also, if you want to run your account up to 1 million, by all means - I will happily live stream myself with pompoms as you do it.
We are preparing to add account lockout functions as well after final testing so users can control their discipline via lockouts (like futures has).
