If Québec’s Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (@BEIQc) can investigate @SPVM police officers accused of urinating on #homeless people, then it should investigate the #SPVM #RiotCops who brutalize photographers-videographers documenting #protests.

The stories out of the police force of Montreal are getting more shocking day by day (cutting Black ppls hair and keeping as a trophy, peeing on homeless ppl and deleting evidence in a DV case) and our mayor passes a law that you’re fined for criticizing them?
What an embarrassment. No free speech AND people being terrorized by the police force.

Il est également essentiel que TOUTE la lumière soit faite sur le dossier des #policiers du @SPVM qui brutalisent les photographes et vidéastes qui document les #manifestions à #Montréal.

Shout-out to @DeeCriminalEyes for standing up for press freedom! A Montreal cop intentionally shined a flashlight in his eyes while he was filming. @SorayaMartinezF
Another Montreal protest where the cops seemed to outnumber the protesters. How much did the city spend on cops for this protest? @SorayaMartinezF is making Montreal feel like a police state. #polmtl

Royal Censorious Mounted Pugilists? Check out Kenneth Pamburn’s story. He was arrested in Red Deer by RCMP Officer Haight for the NON-CRIME of filming police! Then RCMP ordered YouTube to remove the video because Haight was suffering from hurt feelings!

Throwback to when a bike cop pretended to be interested in my body cam while I was documenting a protest. Of all the cops in the SPVM, the bike cops, also known as the “eco squad,” seem to be the most aggressive and the most bothered by being filmed.

Can we please try to be serious? Does anyone really think Montreal cops are scalping Black people and urinating on unhoused people because they weren't properly trained or mentored?
