Value addition and beneficiation can transform lives in Zimbabwe and across Africa by creating jobs, strengthening local industries, increasing export earnings and expanding economic opportunities. Africa must move beyond exporting raw materials to producing finished goods that generate greater wealth for its people. #NDS2 #Vision2030 #AsakhiZim

Today, at the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit plenary session in Moscow, I called upon our great continent to wake up to its immense potential. We are blessed with vast natural resources, the world’s youngest and most energetic population, and a rapidly expanding market. It is time to fully leverage these assets to drive our own development and secure economic independence. Drawing lessons from our partners like Russia, Africa must move away from over-reliance and instead build resilient, self-sustaining economies. Crucial to this economic transformation is stronger regional integration and the robust development of global value chains. By prioritizing intra-African trade, we can seamlessly connect our markets and strengthen our collective participation in international trade. Zimbabwe and Africa are ready to innovate, integrate, industrialize, and claim our rightful place on the global stage.

Well, I can’t blame you, Our President @edmnangagwa is looking sharp, charming, and full of personality. His presence and the hope he inspires among Zimbabweans, both at home and in this case abroad in Russian Federation , is something to behold. The motivation and drive he has instilled in Zimbabweans to believe in our nation’s future are remarkable. Just looking at the Professor listening attentively to his address! I understand where you're coming from😂👏🇿🇼

It is always a pleasure to meet and interact with the brilliant young minds representing our great nation abroad. Yesterday, while in Russia for the third Russia-Africa Summit, I took the opportunity to continue our tradition of engaging with Zimbabwean students studying away from home. Our students are the true ambassadors of Zimbabwe. During our heartfelt exchange at the Embassy in Moscow, I was deeply impressed by their dedication to academic excellence, especially in critical fields like engineering, medicine, science, and cutting-edge technology. We had an open and constructive discussion where they raised important points regarding mutual recognition of qualifications, safety, and the availability of funds to propel start-ups. I reassured them that the Second Republic remains fully committed to supporting their welfare and creating a thriving environment for them. As we march towards achieving an empowered, upper-middle-income society through Vision 2030, our goal is to integrate these highly skilled young specialists directly into our local production value chains. I urged them to focus on their studies, absorb global innovations, and ultimately bring that knowledge back home to build the Zimbabwe we all want.

Glad this case is finally over. Painful lesson learnt here is that, crime does not pay and in Zimbabwe the long arm of the law will always catch up with you, and justice will be served. @SmartThembo @shumbakadzi_zim @HelenMaphorp @GarikaiGarwe @ProvyDance
📹 Marry Mubaiwa’s trial on charges of attempting to murder her ex-husband, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, has collapsed at the Harare Magistrates Court after the magistrate cited the lengthy period the case had taken to conclude. “We won. Ms B [lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa] has done a lot of work. She’s done very well. It’s been unfair, but today we got justice. I’m so proud of her,” she said.

ZIMBABWE-UK RELATIONS REACH HISTORIC MILESTONES Last week was a busy one for the Second Republic, with much happening as it kept everyone occupied with its indefatigable work ethic. In the background was Speaker Advocate Mudenda's historic visit to London. Hon. Advocate J.F.N. Mudenda arrived in London at the invitation of his UK counterpart, Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle. The visit saw him become the first Zimbabwean Speaker ever formally acknowledged in the House of Commons during a live PMQs session. Speaker Hoyle expressed full legislative support for Zimbabwe's Commonwealth re-admission and committed to engaging the UK Executive to expedite it. The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) agreed that observer status for Zimbabwe's Parliament could provide a practical short-term route to full membership, with a phased approach now on the table. Their bilateral talks covered boosting trade and investment — with both Speakers agreeing current levels fall far short of potential. Speaker Hoyle has accepted a reciprocal invitation to visit Zimbabwe.

On the sidelines of the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, I held highly productive engagements with PSB Bank and Rossotrudnichestvo. Zimbabwe remains open for business. Backed by a robust 8.3% economic growth rate, we are deepening our practical partnerships in trade, investment, and strategic financing. We are translating political goodwill into tangible projects by proposing a joint technical working group with PSB Bank, the Ministry of Finance, and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to drive trade finance. We also continue to track BRICS developments on national payment systems. Beyond economics, our bilateral friendship remains firmly anchored on human-capital development. With over 1,000 Zimbabwean students studying at Russian universities in critical fields like sciences, medicine, and technology, we are securing our nation's future.

NDS2 🏥🇿🇼 QUALITY HEALTHCARE CLOSER TO THE PEOPLE! The introduction of theatre services at Stoneridge Health Centre in Harare brings essential surgical care closer to the community, potentially reducing travel costs, easing pressure on referral hospitals and improving access to timely treatment. This aligns with NDS2 (2026–2030) and Vision 2030, which prioritise improved public services, human capital development and a better quality of life for all Zimbabweans. Through Devolution, strengthening healthcare facilities at the local level supports community-centred development, bringing essential services closer to where people live and ensuring that development responds to local needs. 🇿🇼 One community at a time. One facility at a time. Building a healthier Zimbabwe, leaving no one and no place behind. #NDS2 #Vision2030 #Devolution #HealthcareForAll #ZimbabweIsOpenForBusiness #ProgressInMotion #NyikaInovakwaNevanewayo

WATCH | Jacob Ngarivhume has shared the heartbreaking story of Jennifer Chasemwa, also known as Mai Tsitsi, a mother of two who survives through vending. Her brother, Asherby Chasemwa, died in Norton, leaving behind a wife and three children. The following morning, Mai Tsitsi travelled from Mbare to buy goods for her business so she could raise money for his post-mortem and funeral expenses. However, Harare municipal police reportedly seized her goods during an operation against street vendors at Copacabana. She broke down in tears, explaining that she needed the goods to raise money for her brother’s funeral. Jacob Ngarivhume’s wife witnessed the incident and stepped in to help. Deeply moved by Mai Tsitsi’s situation, she contacted her husband and asked him to intervene through Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume. After the mayor did not answer the call, Ngarivhume contacted the mayor’s personal assistant, who promised to help. Mai Tsitsi eventually recovered her goods following the intervention. Thank you Mayor @JMafume 🙏🏾 @gama_stanley @cityofharare2

As we successfully conclude the 25th COMESA Summit here in Harare, I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the Heads of State, Government representatives, and delegates. Your spirit of solidarity, cooperation, and unity of purpose made our deliberations a resounding success. During our discussions, we firmly agreed on immediate priority areas to accelerate our collective growth. Chief among these is deepening market integration and the decisive removal of both tariff and non-tariff barriers. If we are to build truly resilient economies, COMESA member states must cultivate a culture of trading among ourselves first. Our local resources must drive our local prosperity. As the incoming Chairman of this great regional bloc, I recognize that the true measure of our success lies in the impact of our outcomes. The responsibility now rests upon all of us to translate our summit resolutions into concrete, actionable steps. Together, we will achieve our shared vision of "One Market, One Future." My profound thanks go to the COMESA Secretariat, our local organizing teams, and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to host a flawless event at our New Parliament Building. Let us move forward with shared determination.

I am deeply grateful to my dear sister, Uzbekistan’s First Lady, Mrs Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, for inviting me to the World Summit on Children’s Well-being in Samarkand and for her warm, sisterly welcome. The summit offered a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences and explore practical ways to improve children’s lives. Through collaboration, we can ensure more children access the care, protection and support they need to thrive. I was also honoured to share Zimbabwe’s efforts through the Angel of Hope Foundation to improve childhood cancer care, support vulnerable children and help young people affected by drug and substance abuse rebuild their lives. Every child deserves the opportunity to live, learn and fulfil their potential, regardless of their circumstances.
