Celebrating the Engagement of Ambassador Apphia Nyasha Musavengana and Manager Patron Harare, Zimbabwe — It is with immense joy and profound admiration that we extend our warmest congratulations to Ambassador Apphia Nyasha Musavengana (affectionately known as Queen Billion) and her partner, Manager Patron, on the spectacular news of their official engagement. The couple, who beautifully balance high-profile professional demands with genuine, respectful devotion, recently chose to share their love story openly with the public. The announcement that Manager Patron proposed and Ambassador Apphia happily said "Yes!" has sent waves of joy, celebration, and endless congratulations across Zimbabwe and the global community. A Union of Two Powerhouses This engagement unites two exceptionally driven and highly regarded individuals: Ambassador Apphia Nyasha Musavengana: Celebrated as a prominent businesswoman, AU Youth Ambassador, ZANU PF member, and the visionary Founder and President of the Concord Young Women in Business Global IT. Her tireless work in economic empowerment, leadership development, and cross-continental collaboration makes her a true trailblazer and role model for young women across Africa. Manager Patron: Equally accomplished in his field, he is widely respected within the entertainment industry as the sharp managerial mind guiding prominent musical talents, including artist Junior Spragga. Setting the Foundation for a Lifetime To see someone who has dedicated her life to building others, fostering financial literacy, and advocating for youth leadership find a partner who shares her values of respect and mutual support is truly beautiful. Dubbed fondly by their community and fans as "Jnr La Patrona and Manager," their swift and joyful journey toward marriage has captured the hearts of many online. As they put up their "fence" and happily transition from a public romance to a lifelong commitment, we wish Ambassador Apphia and Manager Patron a spectacular wedding planning season. May their upcoming union be continuously protected, deeply blessed by God, and filled with abundant love, peace, and shared victories. Makorokoto, Amhlophe! Congratulations to the beautiful couple! @ApphiaNyaa

Writing The Bulawayo–Victoria Falls Highway is more than a road rehabilitation project. It is a strategic economic corridor connecting tourism, mining, trade and regional markets. With eight local contractors involved, the project also creates opportunities for Zimbabwean businesses and workers. Improving this 440km route means safer travel, more efficient movement of goods and better access to Victoria Falls, Hwange and Bulawayo. This is the kind of infrastructure investment that can strengthen Zimbabwe's competitiveness while advancing the objectives of NDS2 and Vision 2030. @NcubeRonad @MamboChirwa

This right here is how the old round about rekuMsasa will be like come end of project in 2027. Mutare Road and Harare drive will have its own "trabablas" version. The project is in its initial phases of construction. #AsakhiZim

@sholard_mancity let me school you, lest you contaminate people with inaccurate information. The Ministry of Mines and Mining Development's October 2026 report paints a considerably broader picture. Between January and September 2026, Zimbabwe recorded US$9.93 billion in combined mineral sales and gold deliveries. More importantly, the sector is increasingly investing in beneficiation, industrialisation, employment and community development. Zimplats for example has committed US$1.8 billion towards projects under its beneficiation roadmap. Mimosa also contributes US$3 million annually to community and infrastructure projects. Unki invested US$2.8 million in school upgrades, while Blanket Mine has paid US$18.9 million in dividends to the Gwanda Community Share Ownership Trust since 2012, just to mention a few. These figures do not suggest that every community has received adequate development. They demonstrate, however, that the handle's sweeping assertion that mineral wealth is not improving people's lives is intellectually indefensible. Even more revealing is the casual comparison with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, as though different resource economies, investment structures and development trajectories can be reduced to a simplistic social-media argument. If the objective is accountability, investigate project delivery, quantify infrastructure deficits, examine corporate social responsibility obligations and establish where implementation is falling short. That is responsible analysis. But arriving with a predetermined political conclusion, cherry-picking community challenges and ignoring documented evidence is not economic scholarship. It is narrative manufacturing. Zimbabwe's mining sector deserves scrutiny, but scrutiny must be informed by evidence, not sensational headlines and conveniently selective statistics. @ministry_a79270 @AJEnglish #AsakhiZim #mining4development
MINERAL CURSE: I just came across Zimbabwe’s mining figures, & honestly, the contrast with life on the ground is heartbreaking. Zimbabwe’s mining sector generated $8.5 billion in 2025, up from $5.9 billion in 2024. That's almost 30 times what Kenya made. But look at this: 1/2

a City of Bulawayo delegation led by Mayor David Coltart visited the Geo Pomona Waste Management site in Harare to observe its waste sorting operation. Mayor Coltart said the trip was "highly informative" and confirmed discussions with Geo Pomona are ongoing, with Council's next step being to understand the finances. He stressed he cannot commit the Council to a contract, as legal processes must be followed, adding: "We are not at all closed to a contract." Geo Pomona, which has managed the site since April 2022, says its sorting plant can handle up to 1,080 tonnes daily, and its planned waste-to-energy plant is not yet operating.@DavidColtart comment? Are you satisfied??

Today, at the 3rd Russia-Africa Summit plenary session in Moscow, I called upon our great continent to wake up to its immense potential. We are blessed with vast natural resources, the world’s youngest and most energetic population, and a rapidly expanding market. It is time to fully leverage these assets to drive our own development and secure economic independence. Drawing lessons from our partners like Russia, Africa must move away from over-reliance and instead build resilient, self-sustaining economies. Crucial to this economic transformation is stronger regional integration and the robust development of global value chains. By prioritizing intra-African trade, we can seamlessly connect our markets and strengthen our collective participation in international trade. Zimbabwe and Africa are ready to innovate, integrate, industrialize, and claim our rightful place on the global stage.

Zimbabwe’s 2027–2028 tenure as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council presents an important opportunity to strengthen Africa’s voice in global peace and security. President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has reaffirmed Zimbabwe’s commitment to advocating for a just international order grounded in the principles of the UN Charter. At a time when the world faces growing geopolitical tensions, the principles of sovereign equality, respect for international law, peaceful dispute resolution and multilateral cooperation remain essential. Zimbabwe’s participation provides a platform to advance these principles while ensuring that African perspectives are meaningfully represented in decisions affecting international peace and security.

The world knows Victoria Falls, but how many people realise just how impressive the airport serving this natural wonder really is? Victoria Falls International Airport is no ordinary tourist airport. With a massive 4,000-metre runway capable of accommodating wide-body aircraft, a modern terminal, international airline connections, shopping facilities and welcoming passenger services, Zimbabwe has an aviation facility worth talking about. You don't have to compromise on convenience or comfort to experience one of the world's greatest natural wonders. The airport provides a modern gateway to Victoria Falls, Hwange National Park and the wider Kavango-Zambezi tourism region. For international tourists, tour operators and investors, this is an important part of Zimbabwe's tourism story. The infrastructure is there, the connectivity is growing, and the destination is already world-famous. Victoria Falls may be the attraction, but the airport makes a powerful first impression. More people need to know what Zimbabwe has to offer. #ExperienceZimbabwe #AirportExcellence #ExploringPossibilities

Acting President Hon. Dr. K.C.D. Mohadi today commissioned the 6,000-unit Great Dyke Smart City in Kadoma during belated World Habitat Day commemorations, held under the theme “Adequate Housing for All.” He was accompanied by Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities Prof. Daniel Garwe [correction: note user wrote Mavima - but current Minister is Garwe, will retain user's name as provided] Prof. Paul Mavima and Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland West, Hon. Marian Chombo. Developed by Develop IT Zimbabwe, the state-of-the-art gated community offers cluster and low-density housing solutions tailored for low- and middle-income earners, promoting inclusive and affordable housing for all Zimbabweans. The landmark project is a major step towards the attainment of the NDS2 target of one million housing units by 2030 and is a shining example of the Second Republic's thrust on public-private partnerships in housing delivery, job creation and sustainable urban development. In line with the Government's commitment to environmental conservation and climate-resilient development, Acting President Mohadi also planted a Leopard Tree (Mubada/Mbada), underscoring the importance of greening our human settlements. Under the leadership of H.E. President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, the Second Republic continues to deliver decent and affordable shelter — leaving no one and no place behind. MABVUKU INTERCHANGE: 8 LANES, BUT THE REAL STORY IS HOW THEY WILL WORK. One thing I've learnt about road infrastructure is that widening a road means very little if traffic is not properly managed. You can have more lanes and still experience serious congestion if vehicles travelling in different directions are constantly competing for the same space. This is what makes the Mabvuku Interchange project particularly interesting. The road is being expanded from 2 lanes to 4 lanes in each direction, giving us a total of 8 lanes. But there's an important engineering detail that deserves more attention. Of the 4 lanes on each side, 2 will be express lanes, allowing motorists travelling straight through to continue with fewer interruptions. The other 2 will be filtering lanes, directing vehicles towards Mabvuku, Epworth and town. Think about what this means during peak hours. Instead of through-traffic constantly mixing with vehicles trying to exit, motorists will have designated lanes according to their destinations. This should reduce unnecessary merging, improve traffic distribution and allow the interchange to accommodate increasing traffic volumes more efficiently. And the benefits extend beyond individual motorists. Better traffic movement means more reliable travel for workers, public transport operators, businesses and vehicles transporting goods. That is the difference between simply building a bigger road and building a smarter transport system. As Harare expands, infrastructure must be designed not just for the traffic we have today, but for the demands of tomorrow. The Mabvuku Interchange is a practical example of how thoughtful engineering can improve connectivity and support urban growth. We should be paying attention to these details because the true value of infrastructure is not just in what we see being constructed, but in how effectively it serves people once completed.

Zimbabwe’s tourism story starts before the first glimpse of the Falls. With its 4,000-metre runway and modern terminal, Victoria Falls International Airport gives a spectacular destination an impressive entrance. This gateway deserves its own spotlight. #ExperienceZimbabwe

Every community, every culture, every faith matters. At the inaugural Muslim Cookout Competition in Mahusekwa, we celebrated our diversity through gastronomy, nhanga and fashion. We can preserve our traditions, promote healthy eating, create business opportunities and empower communities to improve their livelihoods. I interacted with Muslim and non-Muslim girls during a Nhanga session, where we shared life lessons on cultural values, discipline, self-respect and responsible choices as we nurture confident young women. My vision is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, has a place and an opportunity to contribute to our nation’s development. Together, we are building a Zimbabwe where everyone belongs and no one is left behind.
