YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING leaves us with plenty to think about, especially our ability (and right) to draw conclusions about people based on fragments of information, carefully edited footage, or even worse, a Hulu original series. Read my review at reviewsonreels.ca/2026/10/15…

In 2022, a chilling discovery at Lake Mead reignited speculation about Las Vegas’ organized crime past. Along the lake’s receding shoreline, a visitor discovered a corroded barrel containing human remains. The victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner in which the body was concealed raised suspicions of a possible Mob connection. For more than four years, the victim’s identity remained a mystery. Now, authorities have identified the man as Edward Lelburian Jackson, bringing a long-awaited breakthrough in a case that captured international attention. During today's press conference, officials from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Clark County Coroner’s Office revealed new details about Jackson's life and the investigation. Originally from Arkansas, Jackson was last seen in his home state in the early 1980s. He had also lived in California and Utah, where he had a limited criminal history in the Salt Lake City area. Investigators confirmed that they have found no information supporting a connection to organized crime or establishing any known ties to Las Vegas. Jackson's identification was made possible through advances in forensic genetic genealogy. After years without a match, investigators submitted a bone sample for DNA analysis, which led to a potential familial match. Forensic specialists at Oklahoma State University assisted in the identification process, helping solve a mystery that had persisted for more than four years. When the remains were first discovered, the circumstances prompted The Mob Museum to examine several unsolved disappearances involving men with ties to Las Vegas’ criminal underworld. Among those we researched were casino employees, gamblers, and other individuals connected to organized crime. Now, with Jackson's identity established, investigators have answered one of the case's biggest questions, but many others remain. Jackson's murder remains unsolved, and LVMPD continues to seek information about his life, his possible connections to Las Vegas, and the circumstances surrounding his death. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.

Draftniks put way too many QBs in their early Round 1 mocks! '26 and '27 are outlier classes, especially when the base number of QBs drafted in Round 1 is ~3. More on this and a first look at the #GrindingTheMocks Top 32 at grindingthemocks.substack.co… and my chat with @EdWithSports.

Here is how Brock Purdy performed relative to his peers on 3rd down (the QB's down) in 2025, a season in which he was working with severely limited weaponry. This is the type of obvious, in-your-face evidence that many simply chose to ignore but cannot ignore anymore:

The Top 10 survived another week. The furniture? Not so much. 🏈🚚😂 Elder still has the throne. Princeton is knocking. Lakota West isn’t going anywhere after losing by three to No. 2. Anderson and Beechwood keep making their cases, and Moeller fought its way back into the house at No. 10. Meanwhile, Wyoming is first team out — with Deer Park, Hughes, Gamble Montessori and North College Hill all unbeaten and making the waiting room look like a fire-code violation. And Friday gives us #8 East Central at #9 Harrison. Perfect. We finally got the rankings arranged. Somebody already started the moving truck. Click the link to view the accompanying article...
